I actually just soloed the high dragon with a SOTC-using mage (nightmare). It was a very exploit-ey fight, but in solo I'm willing to forgive some exploiting. I positioned myself as high up the path behind the broken tower (with the chests) as I could, applied greater warmth balm, blew Kolgrim's horn to call the dragon, and she landed in the middle of the circle. Then I put down SOTC. (One thing I did notice, and the only thing requiring a reload, was that she won't land in an active spell, so no setting up your blizzard or tempest beforehand).



As a solo, I was the only one with aggro, so she stayed focused on me. Because of positioning, she couldn't get to where I was standing (no melee, no grabs, etc.), and so she stayed in the middle of the circle with the storm, no jumping around. She could see me, though, and was breathing fire at me, so the warmth balm was essential. And while she could see me, I didn't have clear line of sight so I just used winter's grasp for additional damage. It took a while, and multiple iterations of SOTC (3, iirc), and was actually pretty boring because I never moved, and all I did was use winter's grasp while the SOTC charged on and the blizzard and tempest spells recharged; had to heal 2 or 3 times.
