I like the take on Awakenings via letters, a format rarely seen.

Thanks Bloodshot and Ferreus, nice to 'see' you both again. Glad you liked the Awakening story, it made a refreshing change to write in the form of letters!

Unforeseen Melodies
I will be posting these chapters on FF.net only, but will provide daily links. I hope you enjoy these next adventures of Aedan, Leliana, Alistair and Luke.
It’s been nearly five years since the archdemon was slain, ending the fifth Blight, and two and a half since Aedan defeated the architect. Alistair and Brenna (his wife) rule Ferelden and Leliana remains Alistair’s chancellor. Zevran is still attached to the Grey Wardens in an unofficial role. Oghren leads Alistair’s armies. The companions all lead busy lives and though Ferelden has enjoyed over two years of relative peace (thanks in large part to Grey Warden patrols and diligence), none of them rests easily. They constantly find themselves torn between their duty to Ferelden, family and their own well being.

Ah Nate, what a tragically awesome dude. Well done Sisi, well written as usual.

I'm glad you've returned to Thedas once more, Sisi, as usual your stories are some of my favourites on the forum. I loved the very ending, and considering the events in Awakening, thought it was a great move. More Wardens ruling Ferelden, alas.

Yay, Alistair got a big fancy chair! :-P I don't know why that tickles me so, but it does! So does Amaranthine no longer belong specifically to the Wardens, or is Nate just the new arl but as a Warden and not as a Howe?

Thanks Ferreus, Max. Glad you're enjoying the new story.
@Sandi - I imagine it's a symbolic gesture more than anything. As a GW, Nate is unlikely to either marry or have an heir. Perhaps upon his death ownership of Vigil's Keep would revert to the Grey Wardens and a seneschal or executor may be appointented to run Amaranthine. Or maybe another family rises to power and challenges the Wardens for the right later on (You see what's hapening here? I'm plotting a future story!). They have Soldier's Peak if they need somewhere to go, or even Gwaren.
In the meantime, as he has been rewarded for his loyalty, I doubt Nate would turn around and say, 'Oi, clear out you lot, I want my house back!'. I think he'll continue to be a Warden (even if in name only - like Al) and take on the running of the Arling as well.
Chapter two incoming, and it's got ANGST.

Awwwwww, no Alistair and Aedan traveling together? But I suppose Aedan's allowed to be with his wife for a month. I suppose. ;-)

Alistair is such a good king. ^-^ And you know, the whole Teagan marrying Kaitlyn thing is sweet, but he's like 20 years older than her, at least. Oh Teagan, you charming craddle-robber....

Actually I envisage Teagan being perhaps ten or so years older than Kaitlyn. Her son looks at least eight to ten years old in DA and Teagan is the youngest Guerrin. *shrug* Either way, if the game can marry them off, so can I.
Chapter Six - The Gift of a Day
Yeah, this one's unabashedly fluffy, but what can you do... call it an early birthday present to myself!
Tomorrow, as promised, things get interesting. On Wednesday, things get a little more interesting. Then I might start killin' folks, can't be all love and romance forever, eh?

Oh yeah, I'm not complaining about him marrying her - I think it's cute. But I think Teagan was either 8 or 5 at the end of the war, which was 30 years ago, so that makes him a minimum of 35 during DA:O events.
Kaitlyn was worried about getting sent to an orphanage along with Bevin (who is her brother, btw
Did you see Miliat's tweet that Tegan's name means "attractive"?

Fiction or real, few men are fortunate to find such a woman as you've portrayed Leliana.
Well done Sisi, read it so fast my eyes are smoking.

I agree with Ferrus, Aedan may have endured a terrible lot during his time, but I believe that having Leliana makes up for it. Fantastic writing as always, and for all your other chapters as well. No matter how fluffy those scenes may be, I always have a soft spot for them. I enjoy those stories as much as the other scenes, whether it's action or drama or tragedy, I love it all. That is one of the many reasons why you're still my favourite writer on the site

Oh good, she's back.
I didn't mind her character...but damn if I didn't want her to die in the final battle.
