When will the Dragon Age servers be back up?

^Like the title says.  I've been waiting for about a month now for the Dragon Age servers to be available so I can sign in.  I've been putting off starting up a new game, on a new xbl account, until I can use my codes and get the blood dragon armor, stone prisoner and etc., but I can't unless I'm signed in to the servers.  I've been playing other games to pass the time, but they aren't the same.

This topic is meant for someone from Bioware to respond to, not that I'm actually expecting a quick response, but I'm just curious as to why it's taking so long to get the servers back up and running.  I'm assuming that the servers will magically be fixed when Awakenings is released, or else no one would be able to play the new expansion if they can't sign in to download it.

Um buddy. I've been playing almost every day connected to the servers the entire last month. What you've got here is a problem with YOUR settings, not the servers.



What is your network setup? Wireless, wired, cable, dsl, router yes/no? Do you just have your Xbox set to automatically get its connection info or have you set it up manually? The DA servers require that certain ports be open in order to establish the two way connection. The simplest solution, for me anyway since I use a wired setup, was to enable to the DMZ on my router (Demilitarized Zone) which opens up one specific IP address to all connections (I'm not concerned my Xbox will be hacked, that's rather silly) and then I manually set up the Xbox to assume that static IP address I enabled. Now, I connect flawlessly every time.



Time to learn how to do this stuff or how to do port forwarding. Valuable tools to have...

Actually, the servers (at least for the Promo downloadable content) are down. I've been trying to redeem my Blood Dragon Armor all day, as well as the 3 pieces exclusive to the Collectors Edition. Just got it in the mail today and have been trying to redeem my codes and have continually gotten the message:



"No response received from remote server... please check your Registered Game Promotions page to confirm if your promotion has been registered."



I assume they're doing some required maintenance before Awakenings is released in a few weeks.

I'm currently at work so I can't boot up my Xbox and check it out. It is possible that they are down though the last time that actually happened you saw about 50 posts in this forum all at once. Since I don't see a rampant thread on the subject today I just don't know.



But I can tell you from experience that before I properly set up my Xbox on the DMZ with the right DNS entries and all, I got the "cannot connect to servers" message EVERY time. Soon as I fixed my network settings the problem hasn't come back even once.

Actually I'm at work as well and trying to redeem them through the site here, as I've done with a few other codes.  I'm sure if I was redeeming them through Xbox Live, it'd probably work (though there's a chance those servers are down right now too). 

I don't have an internet connection at home, so to download it through my Xbox I usually have to bring my Xbox over my buddy's house and use his connection. 

I was basically just trying to redeem/unlock the codes for my account, not download them to my Xbox--at least till this weekend when I get a chance to go over my friend's house and actually download them onto my Xbox.

I guess I'll just wait till then to unlock/download them all at once.

Oh, and I'll have to download them to my Xbox, delete them based on their memory block locations, then re-download them to be able to use the equipment in game withough being connected to the EA servers. Otherwise, it'll be as if I never downloaded them at all, and even worse (if I start playing a game using those items), I won't even be able to PLAY that game since its dependant on some of those items, which can only be verified through the active connection to the EA servers--unless you delete and re-download them, as I said.

Good, it sounds like you are aware of the DRM issue with the item packs. There's an excellent thread here in this forum with the detailed step-by-step instructions but it sounds like you already know the idea. Definitely do that, it helps immensely.

Yeah, I got the detailed instructions on that thread.  I'm going to go through the process of downloading the remaining codes I've already unlocked for my EA/Bioware account to my actual Xbox this weekend and then delete and re-download them to fix it.  Seems pretty simple, especially with the detailed instructions that were posted.

I had no trouble before connecting to the dragon age servers, but now for some reason, I keep getting a "try again" message every time I try to log in. This game is the only one that gives me trouble, so it's not my connection. I've heard of other people not being able to connect to any EA servers, and so I was curious if there was some official explanation on the issue. Perhaps if I try again with a new account, I'll have better luck. I just don't understand why I was able to connect just fine before, but now I can't.

I'm pretty sure it was a temporary downtime to either upgrade or make whatever necessary adjustments are required before Awakening is released in a couple weeks. Its working fine for me now too.
