I was referring to the game designers who rather inelegantly forced you to work with Cerberus with too few questions asked.

Same could be said for talking to previous squadmates as if they were BFF.Xilizhra wrote...

Tali being a prime example.
On Freedom's Progress, those that gave her the data got the chance to bring that up.
Those that didn't give her the data but did rub it in her face, didn't get that chance.
Would've soon been nice for their to be a bottom right option in that dialog wheel (top right being the 'gave you geth data' option) along the lines of...
"Of all the people I didn't want to see, you... were high on that list. What are you doing here Tali!?" (similar to how you can greet Udina when you go see Anderson
Followed by her saying something along lines of "Oh boshtet, it is you!"
To be honest, I can think of the reasons why they did the whole Cerberus thing the way they did and when it comes down to it, it's all about resources. Also I suppose on what stuff was flagged/carried over in import. Been a while since I looked at the Gibbed Save Editor so can't remember if the missions that could potentially trigger the questioning of Cerberus were carried through.
But going back to resources and going on basis of those missions being there, even then your still talking about what Shepard's reaction would be. As I've said in numerous topics with regards Sole Survivor (the one most likely to go nuts) you could easily see it that Cerberus helped shape you into the person you become. So if your in Biowares shoes, do you use up a fair chunk of resources to cover the various angles of this, or do you just sweep it to the side.
People seem to have this view that bioware have lots of resources or that doing such things wouldn't take much, but it does when you look at the 'knock on effect' it has and I doubt they have the resources it would take to cover every single thing, so its a case of seeing what you can/can't get away with from a more 'neutral' perspective.
I don't rant about the Tali incident, yeah ok I brought it up here, but am not ranting (nor am I saying you are), I've accepted it isn't there. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and their wanting to rant if they want, I can't see it changing anything though because like I said, it would open a whole can of worms.
I know there is a lot of people annoyed about not being able to bring the subject up, but like I said there is also people that can view the whole Cerberus thing a different way and if Bioware made it so Shepard was pissed off with Cerberus then they would then be annoying other people. As it stands, it is in a neutral area where you can either have your Shepard appreciating their efforts or despising them.
Thus the illusion of player control is maintained.
