Normandy SR-2 - Most dangerous ship in the galaxy?

Also, Donnelly, talking to Gabby after the new shields are installed, says specifically Normandy is a hit-and-run weapon, but cannot stand in a stand-up, attrition fight. Against any council race it makes a great First Strike weapon. It could probably sneak in undetected and fir her Thannix cannons up the Ascension's exhaust pipes while its shields are down. But if anything bigger than a cruiser main guns gets a lucky shot at her...

The SR2 is basically a mini-reaper, with Shepard's charisma being its version of indoctrination.

Now the only thing we need is the ability to detect other stealthed ships, as there is now a whole series of Normandy class ships that the alliance uses. Then the SR-2 would be unstoppable.
I'm not so worried about the alliance having stealth vessels as I am others.

The SR2 is a combination of the best tech from every species in the galaxy.
Its got Asari armour
Turian guns
Human stealth systems
And what I can can assume are Quarian shields considering you get them from tali
So yeah, it could kill anything short of a dreadnought

If someone knew that's what they were facing, specifically - probably not so much. It seems like it would be vulnerable to smaller vessels - the stealth system wouldn't be worth a damn once it was in visual range, so anything which could match it's manoeuverability would probably be a danger to it. Of course - thanks to the stealth systems however - it can run whenever it wants to and no one can catch it.

That's actually true for any ship with FTL.

Don't forget, Joker will get you spaced again, this time because he won't leave without EDI.

Exactly. Leaving the ship is one thing, but leaving EDI - no way. A destroyed ship is just that - a ship. Expensive, but replacable. EDI, however, could be killed off for real, so if there is a slightest, the most insane hope of saving her - I'll try.
So I really hope that Normandy won't be shot again in the third game)

You could always take the AI core with you when you get an SR3.Aisynia wrote...
Which is why I don't expect an SR-3. A refit to SR-2 to add an area or change some places inside? Maybe. But I don't think we'll be changing ships again.

She's hardware too, some of which is composed of salvaged parts from Sovereign, which are irreplaceable. I suppose taking her quantum bluebox would preserve her personality, but it wouldn't be the same.Zemore wrote...

@The EDI thing thats why you have back-ups, just stick her on your usb stick, either that or do a Geth/Rommie(Andromeda)/Cylon Reserection and allow her to download to a Physical Form.

I think it would be very interesting if the Alliance and the Turian create their own upgraded Normandy, or better yet, a fleet of SR-1Bs (or similar) and the Council declares you rogue. So you get a dozen SPECTREs, each with his own Normandy-class vessel, trying to hunt Shepard down.

The SR-2 is a very powerful ship. Exactly how much is pure speculation based on the Codex and the few space combat cutscenes we have from both games - which isn't much, especially since the devs said that the Battle of Citadel in Mass Effect wasn't faitful to the Codex fluff.

That already should have happened in ME2 if you told the council to **** themselves.

Except!!! The first game shows us, just how hesitent the council is to send even you as a Spectre into the Terminus Systems, by grounding you when you tell them you want to go to Ilos.
