And why lawsuits? They gave you a choice to mercilessly slaughter a nobles son possed by a demon, now satanist lawsuits there

Edited to add something on topic -> having a child changes your life forever, changes your priorities, changes how you respond in situations... as a single person someone breaks into your house and holds a gun to you and tells you to do XYZ you are more than likely going to try and fight your way out. If they break-in and put a gun to your sleeping child's head you are going to do whatever they ask you to do.
Commander Shepard should NOT have a family during the confines of the game.

I'm pretty sure the killing of children in video games is banned in several countries.Gabey5 wrote...
lawsuit how so?Mavkiel wrote...
No, I really hope they don't add children into mass effect. It would only be a potential source of lawsuits for the company. Rather they add in female turians/krogans and other things we have not seen.
If there's any bug or glitch that allows you to kill a child in Mass Effect (like the glitch of being able to kill Tali at Freedom's Progress), it still counts.

I read somewhere that with Elder Scrolls Oblivion they were worried people might mod children without clothes or make it so you can kill them. ;\\\\\\\\

You can do it in Fallout 3 (mod it for kid killing, that is, not clothing removal o_o) and as far as I know, no one really cares...
Having children running around isn't all that pertinent to the story, but I'd still be curious to see it. Makes the world feel more fleshed out.

I was just answering the thread's question! I'm not interested in seeing children right now, but I appreciate the OP's offer.

Don't Liara and Tali count as children?
Tali with her nievette (sp?) and Liara would be like 20 or so. I think....not really sure how the asari to human age exchange would work.

Really? I thought she was younger.
Nope. She was 22 in ME1. 24 in ME2. And their lifespans are similar to humans.

seeing children would add immersion to the story..but we know they'd never be killed.
I'd like to see some mention of a potential child with your LI.....more of a "I'm pregnant" line at the end or perhaps during...nothing too serious for those that don't take a love interest..just a mention and reaction in a small way...would make the fight to save the galaxy that much more personal
And how about those of us who are playing female Shepard? Or who have a nonhuman LI? Or--get this--don't want our Shepard to have kids? What, mandatory pregnancy for all? Dare I say it, but no thanks. If it's an option somehow, then fine. I, however, don't want to have a pregnancy forced on my character, particularly if she isn't the type to want to become pregnant (or the type who'd make a good parent to start with). I also don't want to hear the whining that "Shepard/Miranda gets a baby so why can't I have a freakish Shepard/Thane hybrid?"
I said potential child with your love interest..and an "i'm pregnant" line..I did NOT say that the LI would be the one that had to be pregnant. do you know what potential means? potential is NOT definate..therefore...for the SLOW MINDED...it wouldn't be somethign set in stone
try ****ing reading moron

And if Miranda, Liara, Tali (that can't happen right?), or anybody else tell me their pregnant, I will suddenly remember I had another suicide mission to take care of on the other side of the galaxy.
