I am an avid mass effect fan. I even read the books that are outside of the videogames, and was a huge fan of the first game as well. Seeing the second game go to more of a 3rd person shooter was necessary in my belief to make the game stronger, with more focus on the combat aspect of things, however there were a few things I thought about the second game could have been changed.
I only have 3 issues, currently.
1)  In mass effect 1, the way you ranked was from your kills, and not by completing missions. It felt awesome to get out of the mako, and kill a geth collossus, with my bare hands and gain 800 points vs moeing it down with a tank missile. I really feel like this should be apart of the game again, helping preserve the rpg element of the series.
2) The barter system is broken. I actually ran out of credits to purchase things, thus giving me a weird feeling about having to persue onto the last mission without being fully upgraded, simply because I ran out of credits. It would be awesome if you can trade resources for credits. My thought is this: Make a patch; go to Illium, and go over to one of the consoles at the exchange. Click on it, and up pops a menu, allowing you to barter resources for credits. This way you can purchase all of your upgrades, instead of not being able to complete the game 100%
3) When I flushed the toilet in the captains cabin, I was waiting for an xbox acheivement to pop up-hehe. Its stupid but it would have been funny.
