AMD??? Intel lad here....I never gave AMD a thought when I built last summer.. I stick with Nvida as well, although would do ATI if conditions warrant...

Battle of the builds?  Not in the least. Everyone has their own preferences. I've been doing this for years. I am good at x-referencing and finding the best deals, finding what has the best performance vs prices. Bang for your buck so to speak..  It was like second nature after my first custom build.... 

Now for the very first custom build?  Well alrighty then. There was room for improvement.   LOL
