Feeling better today after being in bed for 11hrs.... Chills are gone...
I checked out a bit of the thread from the people who are playing Awakening... People are so stupid, many are bugging these people to start/play characters just to resolve there own selfish curiosities. And, there is the usual whinging...
There is some news regarding mod compatibility between Origins and Awakening. Seems cosmetic and graphic mods work fine, but game mechanic mods do not....

From the topic of people who's already playing Awakening we knew that they removed the chat-camp... this means that we'll be able to talk with companions only when they will have something to say...
This thing seems to be not only a decision for this game, but they are trying to see how this works and how will be the player's reactions... and this could also be the new standard for future games...
I'll report you what Gaider said about this new way to interact with companions...
David Gaider wrote...
Unlike ME2 the context dialogue is full conversation and not simply ambient comments from a party members. We do give up the "list of questions" that you can ask a party member -- but, after discussing it within the team for a while we decided that had limited value. You got to talk to someone, but without context it was all exposition. So we're trying this out. There's still lots of dialogue and banter, but with any luck it'll be more effectively used.
There's still dialogue you can have with them in camp -- when they have something to say you'll see the plot flag over their head. Those dialogues are keyed to events the same way as they were in Origins (meaning something has happened to prompt them, such as reaching a certain level in approval, a specific event, etc.) What's been removed is the laundry list of questions that you could normally ask a character.
So not spending time with a character by taking them into the party and actually adventuring them does limit the amount of dialogue you'll get with them, yes -- you'll have less opportunities to increase their approval in dialogue. I don't really think chatting up a character in camp and asking them a bunch of questions is the best way to do that, anyhow. But, no, you won't miss out on their personal quest -- that's a prompted dialogue, just as it was in Origins.
Whether or not it works will be up to you to judge, of course, but from my perspective it's much more effective on the whole for character development
Your opinion?

Like Bri said its hard to comment on it before trying it... However first feeling isn't really too enthousiastic. I always liked that you had to talk to characters to find out if they had something new to say, gave it a realism feeling.Your opinion?
Don't think the dialogue needed speeding up, there wasn't much dialogue you had to go through to find out if there was anything new, at most you had to go to a subdialog like: "About the grey wardens".
Now often I go to camp and feel no pressure to talk them sometimes, when there's this screaming icon above heads of companions it'll feel like they're "forcing" you to talk to them.
We'll see how it works out though!

Is anyone else getting SoZ panic? Anyone? Just me?

No panic here... What he is saying, is you need to need to have companions in your group to have more dialog opportunities to raise approval.. Means having them warming the bench at camp will not get extra chat/approval... However, the key dialogs for quest advancement will still trigger, regardless...

@Chilipepper: sorry, i just don't like him. The put so much effort into making the dwarfen different than the stereotype dawrf, and they gave him such a nice background with his "running away behaving mad and turning to her own sex", and then they only used this background to turn him into the classical stereotype drunken dwarf you can/copy paste from every randon fantasy novel/ movie/ game

Twiggles, I will gladly take all the Orghrens I can...At least he is useful, unlike that git Alistair, and I won't even mention Zevran...
"Blinks" Oh the humanity!! First off, Zev spec'd well could send Oghren to sleep with the fishes... lol There is not one warrior based character that could take my rogue! Rogues rule ftr!
And Alistair? By the maker!! "shakes head" Yes, compared to a drunken, rude, crude, slow swinging repair kit using dwarf? Yes yes. I can certianly see why you would prefer Oghren over Alistair.. WAIT! No I can't!!!

You can have mine too. Let's make a fair trade for what he's worth.
I'd say a steel dagger is more than worth one stinkin dwarf. Or maybe even too expensive?

maybe the pile of rags, take the loot out first though. I meant just the rags themselves.. I'd take that crazy Ruck in the deep roads before I'd ever want Oghren lol

found the perfect trade object: you can give that dirty, holey and worn out pants covered in some dog-drool that your dog fetches you along the way. Sounds like it's exactly worth one Oghren

We both play rogues... Having a well spec'ed PC rogue and Leliana is more than enough... Can't stand Zevran's fake accent, so he could be the best spec'ed rogue ever, and still he would never be in party, so this is a moot point...
As for Alistair, if a darkspawn looks at him, he dies... Great tank, there!! You need a cart full of health kits for him to make it through a minor mob of darkspawn.. I dump him for Sten straight after Lothering...

Alistair is an awesome tank. Odd. I feel that way about the two handed wielders. i.e. Sten and Ogren. Alistair and Shale are my best tanks.

You must have a different Oghren than me Bri, cause mine is a paper doll. Took him through the entire Deep Roads once and I had to scrape him off the floor after every battle... Alistair on the other hand lived through most of the battles...
