That playthrough through DAO yesterday was hard in a way maybe only Lion can understand, but i has one merit: such things always boost my writing skills.

hehe I can imagine why it was hard then! ;) Yeah I never like to do the last few miles of DAO either! ;)
But remember m8, she lives so as long as thats true its all good! ;) Besides we now know she really does care! :) *tears of happiness*

*Checks his own parts to make sure*, I've been whiney and I still have the required parts to be considered male! ;)

after i passed 18 i classed myself as old damn i feel old

hmmmm, yeah when I was 18 I fell ill (had some bad stomach and gut troubles) which meant I had to end my education and well anything really hehe. It took me around 6 years to "recover". So I always just pretend those years never happened, which makes me 20 now instead of 26! ;)

Good for you.. Being safe is important. I understand your families concerns. However.... you could meet a serial killer at your local library.  "shrugs" There are ways to be safe regardless how you meet someone.  :)

Yeah meeting a stranger from the internet is always risky business... must say I met a few people now and so far I'm still alive! :) However it usually takes me a while before I concent to a RL meeting.

@Lion: good someone understands me and to have some company in it's misery. I seriously don't understand it. I'm way too old for this and are always telling me it's just a videogame and now i know for months what will happen, and still it strikes me down and i find myself really miserable for days and really sad. Amazing, no idea why i am affected that much.

@Max: welcome back

@Twiggles: worth a try though, thx nevertheless. Might just pretend i'm sick lol

@bri: it's working

Ah these type of emotions happen to the best of us! :) Blame the CG-guys, these days characters in 3D movies and games look quite real and have very real expressions, they work on all our senses that usually only fire when we meet flesh-n-blood girls! :)
Although I must admit I've seldom had this crush-like feeling for anything 3D that I have for Morrigan... I've felt attracted and aroused by 3D figures but never had a teenage crush on them.

Hey Guys you are not alone... don't forget this... ;)
We are at least 3 in this topic who had a big crush for a virtual character... 4 if you consider Shedevil for Alistair

Me too, i always mocked my gf when she cried a little in theaters or while watching telly (boy, she is taking and enjoying her sweet revenge now since November).

But this somehow struck me down like never before, and i always feel extremly miserable. I got so extremly attached and are always undecided between embracing that misery and being ashamed for a man of my age who thought he was mature to feel that way.

And i'm completely at Gaider's mercy if they really continue that story and let me play my very own Warden, and that adds frustation and helplessness to the emotional mess.

Anyway, i stop now before i further embarass myself and protect the last bit of dignity i have :mellow:

"sighs"  I can somewhat relate but not really. I really liked the Alistair thing, and even Zevran to a point. I am also not happy with the lack of follow through. I however know me well. I will move on to something else that strikes my fancy with a new game...

Yes.. and never forget that the situation for us in not better than yours....
We are going to suffer so much for her lack in Awakening and we don't know if they are going to give her back to us in a future..therefore we are everybody in the same boat....

However.... Our twins are not exactly alike.  How else do you think we manage to blame our twins for any trouble we get into?  It is the beauty of being a Gemini!!

Well it's like a good book trilogy or saga (say LOTR's or pick any number of other fantasy saga you might have read and liked) like there you really get attached to the characters, you want to see what happens to them and how they develop through the series.  How they change, react to things, and get resolutions and conclusions on their arcs and stories, and DA (like BG and Planescape) have achieved this with their characters, and in most cases we feel there is still story for them to be in, and want some proper closure on their and our character's stories, rather then for them just to be left to the side for the sake of 'the new thing'.  The BG series was great in actually giving the characters the depth, story length and conclusion that made you feel when you got the epilogues that you got real closure.  For me it was similar to reading book trilogy, you saw them grow, change and felt like it was a fond farewell to friends by the end of ToB, growing really attached to those characters and getting to know them well, with great closure to their story.

With DA characters, the potential here is even greater, but if as is likely each game just gives you new characters RPG games will never give you the experience that a book saga or say tv series gives you with really deep characters that you get to know well, care about and really look forward to see where the story will take them (and your character).  As they stand, there will always be a limit to it in stand-alone games, a limit to real depth that can be given to characters and therefore the story that can be told, and so  books, films and tv series still win over games in these areas

what can i add. nicely said. Hopefully BW recognizes this too. They have proven with BG that they are capable of doing this, and DAO reached a new peak and has tons of potential that can either be used to produce some pure gold and something outstanding and memorable or be completely wasted into something that vanishes between all the other games on the market and will soon be forgotten
