Hello gang!! Back on the boards after a day or so... Too much stuff this weekend, laundry, ironing, footy, rugby, and olympics to watch... not even any DA:O ...

regarding ME and ME 2.. sorry, but I do not 'rent' games, and the DRM on ME1 was horrific, I will never buy a game that has limited installations....

To Bri.. Yes DRM is really a shame.. But if I'm not wrong I remember after 5 times you may ask for further licences to call center... And Steam version removed DRM.

To be honest it's not a problem to me.. I don't intend to play it again.. perhaps not more than one time... (i played with femal Shepard.. and I'd like to try a playthrough with male Shepard)

Argh, time for the Landsmeet and my biggest conflict in the game. If Alistair is Fiona's son, would she really want him on the throne? Clearly, Alistair does not want to be king. And as a Grey Warden, we are supposed to give up everything, including titles, etc. So why would I want to make Alistair king? To suit Eamon? Hmmm, he has his own axes to grind. The obvious answer is to be the power behind the throne...but doesn't that make me a bit like Loghain? Most people complain about the Deep Roads (which I love) but it is the Landsmeet I really dread.

hehe I always have this much trouble deciding at the Dark Ritual discussion... Usually end up saving before going into my room where Morrigan stands waiting and then just play another character for several days until I can bring myself to continue.
The main question is of course do you want to have a ****y Queen that will be horrible on the elves or will you compromise and have a great / good couple doing the ruling OR do you want Alistair to rule along perhaps even with you as wife (depending on your race). I know Grey Wardens are supposed to give up everything including titles, but many people died in the past protecting the royal bloodline and at the moment Alistair is the last (okay perhaps Morrigan as well but we don't know this).
You being being behind Alistair is basically as an advisor, Loghain tried to push Anora aside which is not what you plan to do. Alistair is just very new to this whole ruling and he needs a view he can trust.
What is again they say it again the power is not good or bad, it all depends on how you use it...

Besides Epilogues I still find Alistair + Anora the most diplomaticly sound solution... Of course this means you have to make Alistair make some sacrifices. The people love Anora however and Alistair is the last in the bloodline (that we know of).
What is best for your personal feelings however is entirely up to you!

I have to say that I'm selfish when it comes to this, although I feel partly justified.  I mean, no one told me the consequences of being a Grey Warden...not that I still wouldn't have become one, but it would really have been nice to know what I was getting into. So, since I'm only going to live for another 30 years, if I'm lucky, I think I should be happy or as happy as I can be with darkspawn all over the place. So, I usually go for the love, titles & since there's a slim, slim, slim chance, a child.

I don't do steam, or any game requiring constant on-line. My main gaming PC is very rarely connected to the internet, only for initial game installation/registration and to download DLC's. I use a laptop for all my internet access..

I do a lot of hardware changes, and did a complete PC re-build last summer. I am always un-installing and re-installing stuff, so limited installations a problem for me. Also I refuse to call anyone for permission to install something I bought and own..

Husband is a Pisces on an Aries cusp, so I'm used to Pisces...really, not too much different than Geminis!

Indeed !!! In my own opinion the Joining is really a - may I say it? I don't know if it's a vulgar word - screwjob!
I believe everyone must know what is going to do before he decide if to accept or to refuse it..THIS is true heroism..  
My character during her origin wanted so much to become a Grey Warden and was really disappointed when her parents didn't allow it... But after I knew about the taint, I get really pissed off
