hmm, the benefit of DA is that ME 2 was first. If they will continue, the team can heavily benefit from the experience of the ME 2 team (it's also located in Edmonton), which sould shorten the time a considerably amount because they don't to stick to the famous "trial & error".

Also think about that most of the 5 years DAO took was because they had to invent a whole world, graphic engine and everything else from the scratch, while this time, they have many things they can build upon.

And i bet that within these 5 years, the general plot of future games has already been outlined to a great extend and they just have to add it's flesh. But they won't sit down now like "oh well, what do you think Mary/Sheryl/David, what should DA 2 be about, any ideas?

Do you really think they take care of "old and romantic" RPG players' wishes? They know well that whatever they are going to do they'll sell a lot of copies of their games... Take a look at awakening.. after posting the FAQ page, which is one of the most disappointing FAQ pag ever, there was a lot of people who announced they would play however the game.. And people who was complaining like me and you are going to play it however



Therefore my question is.. Why should they go crazy to find a solution of continuity and have much expenses if they can reach the same goal with less work and less expenses?? Maybe old player would stop playing their games? There will be new generations of player who don't know or who haven't ever play games like BG and therefore don't know what is continuity... and therefore won't complaining for the lack of it...

Depends what you consider continuity, you cruel cruel man

If you understand continuity as providing a deep ending for each possible romance, with lot's of video scenes and unique dialogue along the game, then the answer is no.

If you understand continuity in the way that the game will reflect at certain points along the way, in a more subtle way, that there is a romance and a previous story and lead to an end of that romance and provide different closure based on different decisions with one or two small cutscenes and a better flshed out epilogue, then the answer is yes.

We had this yesterday. The gaming community is aging, not just the High School kids anymore, and so expectations are changing. I'm sure IF they provide a continuance, they will find a middle ground between not spending too much money and time and that issue and still provide a meaningful continuance.

Also remember that is something pretty new. ME 2 is the first modern kind of game with such carry over, so we're just at the beginning and the next episode will greatly beginning from the lessons learned, during game development as well as from the fan base

Did you really like the continuity of ME2?

To cheat your LI or to wait for her looking at her picture for all game long, hoping she'll come back in next chapter? Why do I have to live the game in such a limited way?
Under a RPG point of view I wanna be able to live the game enjoying all the things that game may offer without any trouble .. And in order to have this there are only two ways: a direct continuation of ALL the elements of the story, romances included, or a full new story.
Maybe I am wrong but I believe that middle-solutions won't work very well for my tastes

Yes, i overall liked ME 2. Things could have been handled better at certain points, but that was less a ressource restriction than a story decision. That rocky relationship where you old romance is not really acknowledged is not the middle way i spoke of. It was a plot decision by the writing team and therefore implemented that way, and unless the DA writing team copies that decisions, there's no need to fear something like that in DA 2 or whatever.

Middle-ground is like that not every decisions can carry over, minor ones will be neglected, and not all carry over to the same extent, and some will not reflect everyhwere. If you romance Leliana in DAO and meet her in the sequel, your reunion will indicate there was a previous romance, as well as some others scenes. But it won't reflect in every conversation, they will be neutral.

That's what i understand as middle ground, to find something between acknowledgement any time which is heavily expensive and no acklowledgement. at certain key points, your decisions will reflect, but not always. And i can more than live with that if that happens.

I'm a little careful with those wishes. The last time i thought i could use some nice easy flu to stay some days home, i had a nasty accident the next day and awoke in hospital. Since then, i'm a bit careful to wish myself a little illness, someone might be misunderstanding me again and next time in wake up and realize i'm lying in a coffin instead of havin the flu

yeah, and no my right shoulder is more like that of the Terminator than like human, more metal than flesh and bones.

It's seems i mumbled a bit when i announced my little wish for some day off, and somebody got the message wrong

Sounds interesting but had a terrible rating
