Good morning Sam.. Hey... Twiggles prediction were right !!!
Didn't she tell you that you should be ill when your copy of awakening would be arrived?
She was right !!

BTW... Hope you get well soon Posted Image

I think that woman has bewitched me somehow ;)

But at the moment, after spending the half of the night in the bathroom cause my stomach was playing "little ship in the middle of the ocean during a terrible storm", i would rather go to work and delay Awakening til the Weekend if given the choice. Not to talk about that i should still be asleep now on a normal day. Not for that long, but nevertheless still asleep.

Edit: Morning Bloodshot, sorry to hear that. Maybe they will release it in the next hours?

@ Max: well, i did that quickly last night, and i like that font, kinda medieval. But i just thought that needs some support, so any willing to support can copy or alter to their liking

Check for you in late afternoon or this evening.. cross your fingers ;)

Bye!!

My copy of Awakening arrived this morning. It's a good thing that I can send things to my work.
I won't be able to play today though, I suppose I'll start tomorrow in the evening.

Good morning everybody...
hey.. No post this morning? what's up?

@Twiggles,, My feeling is that more or less you are confirming what most of us were fearing after reading some reviews... A story which moves on too fast, an ending which comes too suddenly, a game which doesn't uptake all the potentiality of Dragon Age world...
The sensation of something "incomplete"or better "they had to complete too fast because they had no more time".. am I wrong?

Another question... What is your feeling after the ending? There is space for further adventures or you believe the history of the Warden, that Warden, is over?

EDIT: is there in this game an automathic post-epilogue save or something similar? (this thing could be useful to let us guess if there will be at least another adventure where to export our character...)

BTW.. tomorrow should be my turn, if they shipped the game to Italian Gamestops.
I am not thrilled at all but I am going to play it, more or less with the same feeling like when I go to the dentist to pull out a tooth because is decayed...

Hey Max MacFluffies

After reading each and every page of text boxes at the end. It is very hard to say what my warden "could" or could not do next. She has not died off, she went back to where she wanted to go. However..  It says she disappeared years later and no one knows where she is!..  So make of that what you will. I've not checked to see if there is a final save.. I'll do that.

As far as i know, there is no such thing as a final save. Fernando Melo said we would understand when further dlc arrives, whatever that means.

Hmm, diappeared sounds like a rather good than bad thing to me.

@ Twiggles: how do i say that spoiler free? Quite at the beginning of Awakening, after the first assault is done, ah, i lost one out of three along the way? You too and if yes, which one? Curious to know if you can change the outcome somehow?

Awakenings took me 15 hours and 38 minutes to finish. That is with a couple missed quest.

Well that there is an epilogue stating that she is not seen for years could hint at a continuation at a later time which would be quite interesting, or ofc if you want to be pessimistic about it hints at an abrupt ending to the story. Still in other games like baldurs gate they seemed to give more definitive endings to the lives of the characters so I think the open endedness of that is a good sign that the adventures of the warden are not over permanently.

Still not out on steam though, the waiting is bloody well killing me xD

oh yeah everyone. there is no save "after the fact" for the characters. Just an auto save for final battle.

Actually, it take it as a good sign for a reason. I think we can expect the next chapter of DA will not be about a new Blight or whatever. It might involve the Darkspawn, but the main plot will be different. So if your characer has stayed with the Warden's, became Commander in Vigil's Keep and Hero of Ferelden, that would make it extremly difficult to place him/her in a story outside the scope of the Warden's.
Now, after he/she get's lost, they have a cover up stories for any different epilogue the Warden can get (cause as far as i know, in the epilogue of Awakening, they all end lost and unknown in the future, so suddenly the same epilogue for everyone), they can let him/her appear wherever they like, and as he/she is no Grey Warden or at least no longer in service, he/she can also be engaged in different kind of plots. And moreover, it give them an excuse to start with level one - it's the generel excuse of RPG of that kind "oh your hero hasn't done a fight in years, many things have changed, he/she has forgotten so much". In short, for all these reasons, i think that is a rather good than bad sign to assume the then-no-longer-Warden can return in DA 2

Indeed, coudn't agree with ya more. Still I think DA2 won't be the warden due to all the downtalking of that premise from the devs but it makes it more likely that they will continue his/her story in a nother way.

I won't speculate on DA2.. Although, since my ending puts my character missing after "years" back at court... Seems unlikely she will be the character I go in with. imo anyway.

Always when i accidently end up in a positive mood you all try to talk me down again :P

Maybe the next game will play in a different time period and without the Warden, but they finally have gotten all epilogues together, they will utilize this somehow. Maybe the next DA will be in a different time and deal with some other aspects we already heard of, and in the final game it comes back to the Warden of the first game to finally solve that riddle.
I just think that the main argument against continuation (so many different epilogue endings) is now gone, cause this time there is, in the long run, only one. You get to do different things, but in the end, you get somewhat lost and no one knows where you are or what you do, so you can pop up everywhere.

@Twiggles: years is pretty vague. 5 or 6 years are also years and can be a long time, and nevertheless would allow the Warden to return.

Hey, just read your opinion on the convo system Liso, sounds good, i can share that feeling. I am just trying to prepare a text of ideas how to adjust that system to post there, it's already a wall of text and still getting bigger, but i guess i will at least try. As they seem pretty determined to like that system, i thought about possibilities to make it better

Hehe... Things in Italy works always well... My friend from GameStop has just called me to advise that copies of Awakening have not been delivered, yet

Therefore is high improbable tomorrow I will begin to play.. It's more likely next week...

I have no technical experince in these matters. I just know how the system made me feel personally. Which is how I expressed it.   :)

Eh.. I feel like they took a great game, and now trying to fix what is not broken for the sake of adding new toys...  I was happy with my toys already. enhancing them is fine. but taking them away completely, handing new a new toy that is not nearly as fun; was deflating.

Yes.. but he called me to saying to not waste my time by going to shop tomorrow... He'll call me when game will be delivered... most likely it will be on next week...
Game Stop here in Italy does not work as in your country.. They always have few copies of every PC game.. and often you have to order them because when you ask for one it is always sold out... either if it is a new or an older game...
Games are rarely avalaible on the release date..always some day after....
80% of their cash is provided by consolle players..therefore they care the more them and don't give a great service to PC players....
