In some places (and for some people) that is an entirely appropriate rite!  lol Posted Image

So, i finished Awakening, it was not as bad as i thought, and i expected the ending to be even more rushed, so i was not really disappointed. The epilogue is kinda, i don't know. Sounds pretty final in the beginning, but it end's with: "that's not the last of his adventures, of that is no doubt". So that made my heart jump when i read that.

Wonder what the guys who have finished decided in the final decision and what the outcome was, maybe we can share our experiences.

It's 2:20 am here... and I finished my game more or less in 15 hours. All the game in 1 single-full run.. wow!!

I'm too tired to write a long opinion.. I can just say that it's not the crap I was expecting, even if I found a lot of thing I didn't like (and I didn't find a lot of thing - one thing expecially - I would have liked)
By the way.. My feeling.... I don't know if is this adventure may represent the end of the adventures of our warden, but I can say quite peacefully that it may represent finally the end of the eternal fight beetween the darkspawn and the humans (or better the grey wardens)

I didn't like the (non) continuity they gave to the personal history of our character, I didn't like MANY things of this game, but I can say at least that in this game the writers did a good job in order to write the words "THE END" about the main content of the first game, which was the blight and the invasions from the Darkspawn...

It's a pity that for many reason (budget-time-lenghness of the game) they had to focalize all of their work only on this thing, and therefore they weren't able to carry on all the other good contents there was in Origins game. But who knows? Maybe it is better so, because now they get out of darkspawn, broodmothers, blights and so on, they are free to unleash all their creativity for a new story, with new enemies, new scenarios and so on.. and forget forever hurlock&genlock&company

Hey Sam, is a writer... If he agrees with me he would be able to explain what I mean in a better way.. what I am trying to say is that "fighting the darskpawn", in my opinion is already an "old and tired" story... ;)

And after 15 hours no-stop playing I need definitely a shower and a long sleep
See you all tomorrow.
Good night !!

@Max. You really want me to flash out your bedtime stories with Leliana in detail? :P

I wonder how you all decided in the final decision, as far as i know now, i am the only of the people who told me so far who decided against the final offer? Can't be, must be some more out there?

Well, the Origins story seems to be finally over, but that does not come as a surprise i guess. That the ext game won'T be about Blight nr. 2 was expectable. Some new story, the lore of DAO has lot's of potential for engaging and interesting stories without the Darkspawn. Just read the codex, think of the countries, think of mages and religion and many other things i have forgotten, there is so much story potential there.

Oh, before i forget, good night Max

But i will follow Max shining example now, i am off now too, take care everybody and good night

Goodmorning everyone! :)

Not sure it can be called a ritual, but when the weather starts improving I'm always looking at our pond in the garden to see if the turtles (terrapins) have awoken and are alive and well. I raised both of them since they where about a month old and one is a fullblood redcheek (who do hybernation) and the other is a hybrid between a yellowcheek (who don't do hybernation) and a redcheek, so that one is mostly up first which always frightens me. Lost 1 turtle a few years back - which I didn't raise but which just came walking in out of the blue - due to a few warm days in winter which made him wakeup, when he went back to sleep something went wrong and he came floating up dead somewhere during the summer.
So basically I just look at the pond every few hours to see if I see any turtles! ;) hehe

4:15 am here and I just finished Awakenings...which is ironic now given that I've been awake for nearly 21 hours now...hehehe. Actually ran through the very end twice. Gee, Ferelden doesn't have too many happy endings, do they? Anyway, I don't feel upset about the ending...just a "well, huh." I think I need a bit of time to reflect, but my gut reaction is...mostly enjoyable, but nothing even close to DA:O. Seems like a "typical" expansion pack, which in itself is disappointing given the promise of the original. Oh, well...we'll see what comes next...

Well, as it seems it's just me all by myself "insert song here" and I can talk to myself off-line, I'm going to call it a night. Will check in later today to see what's happening and inquire how everyone is doing. See you all later!

Good morning all !!

I made my personal review of Awakening companions and I'd like to share it with you and to know also your opinions. I tried to do my best in order to avoid too much spoilers and too much errors due to my poor english.. I apologize for them, just in case

Companions I liked:

NATHANIEL HOWE: He was the greatest surprise of this game.
When they announced him I was expecting a spoiled noble guy, complaining about you and everything and who follows you only for personal advantage. Instead of it he is a good guy who suffers for the guilties of his father, who tries to find the truth about him and who don't refuse, after he found it to open his eyes and to accept it. And he is nearly nifty in his will to try to rehabilitate the name of his family.During the adventure he becomes a loyal companion and a good friend. In my opinion the deepest character of this expansion.

VELANNA: One of the moodiest character ever. Everytime you don't know how she can react, how she can answer, if she will like or not what you are going to say/do. She changes her mind every 10 seconds.
But despite of it you are often able to persuade her of some things, she can hear you and understand when she is missing something. She has an interesting background. And beetwen all characters she is the one whom the personal history is the most involved with the main plot of the adventure. Good job with her.
And in a longer game she would really be an interesting romance option, if you would have the opportunity to "softener" her just a little

Companions I didn't dislike, but I didn't like too much:

ANDERS: Ok, the first time I met him I told "Oh a guy who mixed the sexual harassment of Zevran and the sense of humour of Alistair. Where is the option to kill him? Luckily I discovered he was better than this. BTW.. the "James Dean" of Awakening, the classic "rebel" character who refuse every kind of rule, every constraint, he's taking perpetually to flight from someone or something. Not really a bad guy, He is surely a character made for wowing the "femal department" of the community but not really the kind of person my half-paladin character would like to have as a companion

SIGRUN: It's a lot of time I say they have to deepener dwarves characters. They are often too "stereotyped" in their "material" way to live the life, with their stubborness, and their taking pride only in combat and wars. Sigrun is not an exception to this rule but at least she is a little step in the right direction. At least she is a few "girly" in some occations and she can be a little cute. But this is not enough. They can do better.

Companions I didn't like:

OGHREN: I'd like to read now the opinion of all those people who said "It's right they gave Oghren a second chance. He had not enough time in Origins to find a way be appreciated. We are sure they made of him a deeper character, they improved her personality making him a more interesting guy."
Well not only they didn't anything of this but he is even WORSE than in origin story. I don't know if there is away to improve him helping him with his personal quest, but I was not able to find a way to "help" him to retake his wife.
And to be honest,at a certain moment I gave up with him becuase I had enough.

JUSTICE: maybe my judgment is affected by the fact he's the last companion I found, therefore I had not enough time to evaluate him, but I can say that a strict spirit imprisoned in the body of an half -putrefied human is not a thing I liked too much, and it's quite disgusting. Maybe if you take him immediately you can appreciate him more, but I have more than one doubt
