I am REALLY looking forward to The Witcher 2 and have not been following much since the youtube leak. I did the same with DA:O.. I wanted to know as little as possible regarding spoilers because I was looking forward to it. I know the company has had a lot of trials and problems..  Last I heard on the technical end, was searching for a viable publisher.

There is another reason I am evaluating now, before to decide if to put my copy of Awakening on the library or to play it one more time.. It's just a little pity I played all of it in a single play session of 16 hours.. It would be better to play it a little slowly.
Maybe in 4-5 times..

I could not go through this expansion 4 or 5 times.  I am slugging through my second run as it is..   I even went to all the places to pick up companions first. Which btw! is most of the game!   "sighs"

Did you try to reload a previous saved game and play again the part of the adventure until you had the bug?
Did you try to uninstall and reinstall the game and loading the game after a reinstallation?

This thing remember me a bug I had in the last battle of NWN2 when I was unable to kill the final enemy because he reloaded his energy bar everytime I was near to kill him.. I had to reload and try that combat more or less 50 times before the game didn't give me that bug !!

I also heard rumor that Funcom was doing another "Longest Journey" aka Dreamfall.. # 3. but that has been a long while since I heard anything about that one.

I have also decided that speculating DA2 is far to much stress. I will be waiting to see how the convo system and reviews are this time though, I will not be pre-ordering anymore DA expansions or DA2 until I see how others react to it.

Agree with you there.

IMO, Bioware kinda painted themselves into a corner with DA:O. The way I see it, there are only 3 options: maintain the level of DA:O (which is hard to do), exceed previously attained goals (again, hard to do) or fall below previously met expectations (which is very easy to do). Having to do this in my job, the first two are very challenging and imo harder than creating anything new from scratch. Most things unfortunately fall into the 3rd category. I wish Bioware all kinds of luck to try and stay in option 1 or 2.

Indeed Vampy. I understand that a good RPG "true" single player RPG is big money in terms of production. todays standards with all the VO, new engines etc make it even more so. I VERY much appreciate those companies that have not done the FPS only or sports games to make the quicker buck. Seriously. they are lucky to eek out 10-15 hours and charge the same price for a new game.

The companies that are known for their RPG's must stay a cut above to pull in all player types. It is a very wicked b.i.t.c.h to create the type of gaming enviroment that pulls in several different gamers..

Yes - I would rather give my hard earned cash to a company like Bioware that puts out games like DA:O than any other run-of-the-mill game. I'd be willing to pay more for it, too if the quality is just as high. $100 for a game with the quality of DA:O is not out of the question for me. Of course, you're now shifting your market to more of an adult market which I think is still not yet tapped. Thinking about what I spend on entertainment in other mediums, to me that price isn't over-the-top.

That's the last I heard too about a viable publisher. I hope they find someone - that has the potential for such a good series.

No kidding!  I wonder if Bioware has even considered it, since they used the Aurora engine for the first one.

Yep.. and as I see it.. A 2 hour movie vs several hours and hours of fun in game? No contest..  Entertainment is not cheap. But if you think of it in terms of time divided by what you spend? It actually is a value..

Zip your last save file. After that upload it here

After this you send me the link I download it and I try to see if with my game the battle is "unlocked". If I pass that battle I will make a save, and then I will upload it on the same site Posted Image

They have created a brand new engine for The Witcher 2..  Bioware is not a publisher anyway. "looks over at EA" I am unsure this new company can handle the dealing of EA..

I really should get going, but I know...I know as soon as I leave our other buddies will jump on. The week-ends are the only time I have to truly stay online and chat, but it's also the only time I have to get other things done...darn time zones!

I'm really looking forward to where they might take this idea of an alternate 'rogue' Witcher school that was revealed in the epilogue to the Witcher, and seems to be a theme in the Witcher 2 according to the trailer in YouTube.  Should be interesting, also I love allot of the Witcher stories, particularly the short stories which are real gems, though there are not many translated into English atm.  But the The Last Wish is available and the twists those stories are general fantasy tropes is quite good :)
