oh yes i finally got loghain in my game and my approval +10 for nathaniel i think it was or anders cant remember which :}

Was Loghain like really nice to you? He was acting like my best buddy when I met him.  hehe

very buddy buddy with my warden too but i thought it was appropriate as they were friends in my ending even though the approval said 100% neutral he said he never thought we'd become friends and i said to him me neither hehe but we were

I guess your Warden could be pals with Loghain if he was conscripted into the Wardens & hated it, but I think Alistair's passionate speech about why he shouldn't live is pretty compelling.

Loghain or not Loghain... After talking with Cailan the first time.. and after looking how idiot he was...
Did anyone ever thought he could survive to that battle? I imagined immediately he would die in that battle.. Didn't only know how..

@ Vampy. Very true about Loghain. Though... those times where not so civil, and you can see it as Alistair being unreasonable. Here is why.. When Reordian says "there are compelling reasons to need more wardens" I know right away someone had to die.. My first reaction was. YES Loghain is a tool.. And Alistair was too dumb to pay attention.

But doesn't he become a Hero?  The destroyer of the Grey Wardens (nearly) becomes its newest Hero?!  Grrrr.....

Compelling? He sounded like a spoiled brat, putting his personal vendetta over ending a blight. It doesn't matter how bad Loghain is, ending the blight is far more important than vengeance.
To put it bluntly: Duncan would have recruited him.

Not sure he was really dumb, he was very ambitious... Just young and impatient... Lots of figures in history came pretty far with that attitude! :)
Not sure what I imagined... I think mostly I don't imagine anything about the story and just let it play out... :)

No, not dumb. Blinded by passion. He was a Grey Warden longer and actually knew those guys. It was like he lost a family, a place where he felt he finally belonged. I can see why his passions got the better of him.

I agree - you knew the end wasn't going to be a good one for someone and Loghain does seem to be made to sacrifice...

Oh yeah, Cailan was a fool and yes, after reading The Stolen Throne, you just knew there was a betrayer in Loghain somewhere.

True, but I'm not sure if that would have worked in his favor...

excuse me for pointing this out but doesnt a hn do the same thing with arl howe for revenge so how are we any different to alistair and hes not a spoiled brat duncan was like a father and cailan was his half brother it obviously hurt him too much to even consider letting loghain live if someone hurt my family in any way theres no way i'd forgive them and like alistair explains being a grey warden is an honor why honor loghain for his treachery

I have to say a thing...
Loghain may also be a *** of a ***** and may have done what he has done...but sparing him is even better than killing a man who had already surrended to you and killing him in front of his daughter, spanding his blood in her face !!! Doing such a thing only means to be even worse than him...

He was a traitor and needed to die one way or another. I'll admit that I was surprised that you could kill him then and there, but them was part of the rules...Image IPB
