Curlain.. your point of view may be right. But if DA:O writers would had this idea, and these reason beside Cailan's behaviour you may be sure they would have EMPHASIZED this thing in the game..
No one in the game, not even Alistair tell something like "Here's the reason why I wasn't in the battle.. Cailan saved my life" and there are a lot of moment when he's complaining about he's lack in the battle instead of Duncan
Therefore I am sorry but I believe the only reason beacuse you and Alistair are still alive is just by chance.. And thanks to Flemeth.. don't forget if she wouldn't help you still die in Ostargar..
You are alive thanks to FLEMETH, not thanks to Cailan
And now I am really going...
Bye

That is not completely true. When he reveals in Redcliffe he is a royal bastard and says he should have died instead of Duncan and he it just alive by pure chance, you can answer him that this can't be what he truly believes and he admit's he does not.
So he seems to be aware that he was sparred exactly because he is a royal bastard.

At least i can now talk about all of this without getting worried or annoyed glances from people. I am a talker, i like to talk about the things i see and that interest me, and if i tell my gfor my relatives about my thoughts and try to explain it to them theys only shake their head.
Now i can spill it all out without any need to worry
Nope. no need to worry.. like i said though.. Each of us are going to have a different perception of things. Also some the same.. that is the beauty of this story.
I also think Loghain should have died.. However.... I also wanted to know that side of the story. I do not play games based on my own personal feelings or personality. I travel the avenue of all possilbe theories and endings.. It makes my gaming experience more rich and interesting for me personally.

That! depends on exsisting approval with Alistair. He can say "because of you" or lucky to have lived because of you.. nothing to do with Cailan. it can come down to Duncan saving him as well.

But if you remember Curlain's theory, Duncan worked with Cailan in his backup plan, so it would not matter if Cailan or Duncan gave the order for Alistair to stay behind

If Cailan understood this battle was already a loss. He was not "thinking" about his people. He was thinking of what "he" wanted.. If he were truly thinking about his people. He would have forced Loghain to wait.. This is logical.. I am basing this on logic only..
I think you overestimate the authority Calian actually had over Loghain. He may have been King, but Ferelden rulers rule with their nobles as first among the lords, and do not have total authority. The power they wield depends from monarch to monarch on their personal power, the alliances they have with nobles, and their personal influence, similar to the medieval English monarchy in this manner. And Loghain, like powerful nobles in medieval times was nearly if not as powerful as the King in his influence and stature, with the standing armed forces loyal to him rather then Calian if it came to it (as we seen very effectively at Ostragar). And whoever commands the greatest armed forces in these kind of lands has the greatest effective power, and unlike Maric who had equal reputation and loyalty from the soldiers and greater influence with the great noble houses, this is not true of Calian. It will take him time to build this kind of influence and alliances through the Bannorn, and he doesn't have the loyalty from the soldiers that his father (and Loghain) has. This effectively makes Loghain the more powerful figure in the politics of Ferelden, and in truth Calian actually cannot simply command Loghain do things like the Orelsian empress could one of her commanders, the political structure in Ferelden doesn't immediately grant Calian this kind of authority.

This is true Curlain. I actually have no arguements over everyones opinions... I was just trying to make a point. There are so many scenarios to sew together... I for one, am not sold on any particular one of them..
EDIT: Also.. Quote of Cailan's "You'll do well to remember who is King" when talking to Loghain

yeah i kinda got that impression that loghain had more power in a sense just from some of the things cailan says in ostagar so i think you could have a valid point curlain loghain had more people behind him and i think if bryce cousland had lived he even had more support than cailan from what it says in the game "mind is pondering now"
It seemed to me, that Bryce Cousland was very supportive of the King.. However, that is just another twist in the plot we'll only be able to theorize, and not truly know.

true but it does make for an intresting theory it would be good if some of these things were explained in future game releases i wonder who would be close to the truth of it all hmmmmmm "mind ponders again"
If Gaider continues to write the books that go into the game time frame.. you may be able to get all the depth, grit and facts.. Who knows.

The sond is here. The band is here.
There albums are all awesome, but i like the new one best (it's with the song posted above). All songs are great, and Jared Leto has an amazing voice. I could listen to them all day. Okay, to be fair, i do, most of the time when i have time
Edit: my current favorite is this one.
