@ Sir Samcelot. It is loading.. will listen in a few. I have a big dl going.. so my internet "which already sucks" sucks even more atm hehe

I have edited my post and added my current favorite from that album so more for you to download and wait :kissing:

@Shedevil: depends on what you like and what you already have. I have a huge fantasy library and could probably recommend you some if you like fantasy in general and do not already know them

Better be an idiot than a traitor who sacrifices the son of his friend because of his fears. Think about the letters of RtO.
He did sacrifice his king cause he knew that his daughter was most probably barren and Cailan was to dump her, and that Cailan was maybe ingaged with a woman form Orlais. He was not caring for his country, though me may believed that, he was caring for his own unreasoned fears and hsi believes (like he did with MAric) he always knows best and can shove other people around to do what he wants or kill them. He deserves nothing better than he got

Those letters were not so clear that Cailan was going to marry anyone else.  Loghain assumes imo..  It does not change the fact Cailan KNEW that battle was lost before it started. And he would not wait for backup..  idiot

I'm not so sure Cailan knew the battle was lost before it began. They had easily won the other battles. He certainly discovered it during the battle. Loghain saw it too, if he was the brilliant strategist he was touted to be. Even though Loghain could see the battle was lost, his troops should have been sent in to let the others retreat - to give them cover. He had done this before in other battles. This time he didn't. Whatever his motivation for not doing it, it does lend itself to traitorous behavior, esp. when he grabs for the throne.

I see that...this is what happens when I have to work. "sighs"  Anyway, really good debate, loved Stealthmaster's take, as well as yours.  Just bought The Calling and plan on starting it tomorrow.  This debate will be in ht eback of my mind, I'm sure.  I love seeing everyone's opinions and takes on scenarios & characters. It certainly says something about the writing for a group of individuals to come together and be so passionate about a story. Image IPB

I'll do that. Like you, my husband's eyes start to glaze over after a bit when trying to talk about DA. Image IPB

EDIT: So I don't have many people to discuss the subject - this is what happens when I get interrupted at work; my train of thought derails! lol

Great, can't wait to hear what you think and if you didn't miss that little Alistair hint i saw there. Pls don'T forgewt to tell me once you're done.

I guess for a female it's even harder. We males are known to never grown up, so no expects any better of me, but female gamers are still pretty rare.

Just another random thought...do you think that most of the conversations here (in the forums, not just our thread) are, for the most part, civil because of the Mature rating of the game and that hopefully there are more adults around with the capacity for rational conversation & debate?

Yes - been playing D&D since H.S. In one group I was the only girl and in the 2nd group I was 1 of 2 girls. DA:O has been a breath of fresh air for female gamers.  I mean I like The Witcher, but it's really filled to the brim with testosterone, esp. where playing cards of female conquests are concerned, but for the most part, it's a good story and a fun game to play. Hope Bioware continues the DA series in the vein of Origins.

you do not real much in these boards outsite this thread, do you? There is not much maturity out there, many people behave like... well not mature.
Though this could also be the internet-effect. Many people, given the anonymity of the net, tend to behave completely different forget all kind of manners when online

Edit: you talk about p & p rpg?

aww, in all those years as a game master i would have loved to have female players, we only had one, and she showed up only occasionally. That was so sad, and none of my players was willing to play a female.

But on the bright site, we might be making a new group for a one-shot story i have been writing for years, and we will have 2 females. Two. I can't believe it.
