I bet it will be the announcement of the 2 sequels...And maybe they are released the same day !  How beautiful! Image IPB

Maybe. Both are rumored to be released 2011.
I do wonder, though, such countdowns are generally only used for release, not for announcements. It's the first time i ever heard they used a countdown for an announcement. One user suggested it might be the romance pack for both Dragon Age as well as Mass Effect. As always, i want a time machine

I would be able to pay immediately other 40$ for a romance pack Image IPB

Do you remember some day ago when I told I don't like to have fortress to manage, to take political decision and so on? Here's the reason.. I don't wanna be a leader, I don't wanna be forced to take some decision, I don't wanna rule.
Here is the reason why I also refused to rebuild the Wardens at the end of the game and decided to leave Denerim
And here is the second reason why I was so happy to read in the ending of Awakening that I left my role as a commander (the first reason of happyness was obviously to re-joining Leliana)
I AM AN ERRANT KNIGHT... AND I FOREVER WILL BE..

You face decisions whether you're a leader or not. Specially in the real world. Actually, that's one of the best things about Dragon Age, IMO, that you're don't have to decide between "good" and "evil" (oh, how I hate maniqueism) but it's a lot more complicated than that. And still it could have been netter, for example, I don't like that they put the option to save both Connor and his mother, it would have been better if that option weren't present.. or if you pursue that option then, when you return, things have gone worse than deciding one or the other. Because that's more real, and having difficult decisions where "right" or "wrong" isn't clear cut make the game far more enjoyable. At least for me. I don't want to play d&d.

btw.. wonder why people are so sure they are really going to release a romance pack

It was just a rumor, like the "letters from Zevran and Leliana" in Awakening

I don't believe they'll ever do such a DLC.. Even if would love it, It would be too much drived at a specific target of user.. and they won't release something that any user won't buy...

I don't know why nobody understand what I mean Image IPB

Indeed.. I agree I have to take some decisions because that decisions are needed during the adventure and I am glad to take that decisions... But I'll take that decisions thinking only to what is better for complete my mission and what are my believes.. I won't care about the political consequences 10 year after the end of the adventure, because when the adventure is finished I want to be free to go, not to become king, not to rule an army or some damn reign and so on..

And that was exactly what I did at the end of DA:O.. I answered to Anora "I want to travel now.. have fun. Goodbye"
And that is what I want to be free to do at the END of every adventure...even if DURING the adventure I have to be a commander a political and so on....

I doubt that. As it is advertized on both websites, it has to be something pretty big. A new IP, a new expansion, something along that lines, bigger than a dlc (at least all dlc before was only advertized on the related website.

Well she is important enough to be celebrated worldwide and even in both games! Image IPB
hehe nah I'm just kidding of course, DLC is indeed doubtfull, unless they are going to release DLC for both games simultaniously...
With bad luck it'll be something silly like a new episode in the Dragon Age Journeys and perhaps a similar ME game being released hehe! :)

Honestly im a bigger elder scrolls fan but DAO is good too.

Never got into Oblivion - tried, just couldn't do it.

I don't know why, but Elder Scrolls games bore me. From the first to the fourth, I've tried all of them and couldn't play any. It's strange because I like Fallout games.

I take new post for that.

Without wanting to build any excitement, but today, for an unknown reason, a mysterious countdown has appeared on both the offical Mass Effect as well as the Dragon Age Origins website. You can go and check for yourself.

I have checked everything that should be released or announced around that time that i knew of, but nothing hit's that date. Whatever that is it's a mystery for now. Especially remarkably is that it is advertized on both gaming sites, so it has to be something bigger than a new weapon for Origins or ME 2.
Of course, one could speculate BW will reveal details on that mysterious release date next year. Feel free to voice your own opinion.

Edit: mi thought i could be related to the MMO, but that countdown is not listed there, so that is pretty unlikely.

Maybe Jade Empire 2? :P

As a game master in AD&D Ravenloft  I HAD to be CRUEL
When you open the Ravenloft Handbook the first thing they say to you is "Hey master, the FIRST thing you have to explain to your players is that in Ravenloft's World there are no epic battle to win, great rewards, land to conquer and so on.. No, in Ravenloft the only mission of the player is just to SURVIVE.. If they reach this goal they must be happy no matter anything else" Image IPB

I prefer Call of Cthulhu, Ravenloft is too soft:devil:

In for only a min... I am unsure anyone has mentioned this, as I have not read through all the post.. That counter? I assume is an announcement of some sort. They promo releases to much pre-sale.. So I would guess it is a formal announcement.. :)

I hink that romance pack was a joke on an interview, nothing serious, really. I've seen that interview and that's what it sounded like at the time.

My take is that this is Duncan's doing, not Cailan.

Hi twiggles... Yes... we are already going crazy for that count-down

But I also believe it may be an announcement.. I find really impossible they are going to release something without leaving to user the time to buy BW points and so on.. unless is something they are releasing for free !

Me too, I've read everything he wrote. Even his essays. But I first knew of him through the RPG, in high school.
The two games we mostly played were Call of Cthulhu and RuneQuest. I love the Glorantha setting, my favourite by far, mature, original and hugely developed (it's more based on ancient times and mythology than medieval times).
Bioware would do great games with this setting:O

Well i think it wasn't just a coincidance that Cailan wanted The Warden and Alistair to light the beacon when Loghain had already said he had men stationed there.
so at least Cailan did have a part in it ;)

Now that I finally find a copy of the game at Game-Stop I'll be able to play it...
The problem is that before I have to finish two ME2 games...

It's a shame there are no RPG games based on Lovecraft's novel.. The only game was Dark Corners of The Heart which was an adventure/FPS... and I don't like that kind of games
