Does that mean you won't be playing? Or you will be, just not excited?

Me too Lion..  At first I was a bit taken back by the lack of carry over. I got over it though.  hehe

I've seen it for 19,99 I think on Play.com... Free Shipping. :) I think with Amazon I have to pay shipping to the Netherlands... :(

Problem is if I order from there it has to come from the UK and somehow orders from Play always take 7 days to reach me hehe! :)

I could just pay 10 euros more and have it faster, but I'm cheap so might go for the Play.com version and just wait 7 days! :)

If I had to say the truth I feel like a child to whom they gave a beautiful toy and after this, they took away it...

I still have to find a reason for playing a game where they removed the thing I like the more...

Liso, £14.99  = $22.40US .... even with shipping it would be cheaper for you buy from the uk, unless you PC is area locked.

@Lion,
I saw the Play.com price as well. Not sure how much you save with 'free shipping'. Amazon dvd shipping is usual around £4 and takes 5 days to reach Italy.

Indeed, one of the few times getting games in the UK works out better (it usually works the other way around) :)

But Brit i right unless there are area locking issues you might think about ordering the game through Amazon.co.uk.

As for Awakenings I'm looking forward to it more that it seems confirmed there will be some depth to the companions, and from reading the reviews it looks like it won't be a hack n' slash game.  So if this be the case, then yep, it should be good :D

Sounds like you should be ok, I've only encountered area locked situations with film DVDs imported from the US, not games as such

During game installation, sometimes the process will check your PC's 'area'. This is defined when you first install your operating system. One of the first things Windows ask is your 'area'. I always select the UK, cos I buy all my games from there. This is hard-fixed until you re-install your OS ...

Sometimes game publishers release area locked versions of games ... UK releases will only install on UK 'area' PC's...US versions only on US/Canada area PC's ...

I have few games where the published has area locked them ... This is usually for old games that are re-issued, and the publish prints this on the dvd box...

@Liso
For the original WItcher, Atari didn't area lock. However, if you downloaded the Extended Edition, you had to make sure you used the version compatibale with your original 'area' installation.

Yeah.. I rather pay the $40 and not worry about it. Seriously. I could spend that on one night of take out for the family. at least the game as more fun factor..     :)

Ah the Witcher, might boot it up again tonight, it was actually better then DA at providing morally challenging decisions (and I was mid-way through Geralt in a Shanni romance, still wonder if Triss will barbecue me at some point, but I do miss Yenifier )
