So, I haven't read "The Calling" yet and only know the basics about Awakenings, but any idea where this story / adventure / world is going?

I have not read any of the books, nor will I until the gaming adventure is over.   I fear it will be like reading a great book, then someone puts out a mediocre movie later.

You should read them.  The books provide background and history, at least "The Stolen Throne" did.  From what I've read, Bioware is trying to create such a submersive world through all media outlets. Interesting idea.

I dunno. I do not think I can do it...  I may argue at my own game.    lol

Hard to keep up when we're all on different time zones!  You & I are the same, but the others are all over the place.

I am in the same time zone as well.  Just further south than ya'll  Posted Image

Ya'll!!!  hahahahah  I lived in South Carolina for years.. and Texas..  I picked that word up and it stuck for life!

I lived in Texas for a while, too.  Yes, "y'all" stuck.  It surprises people when I say it in normal conversation. Posted Image

I found that it filled in gaps regarding Loghain. It makes you understand why people were surprised at his actions.  Then again, as I said before, there was always something there about him that was not trustworthy...

I have read them both and thought "The Calling" was especially good in giving better background on the Grey Wardens.

However, having seen the man Loghain once was in the Stolen Throne, it is difficult NOT to want to kill him just to put him out of his misery...hate is a powerful and destructive virus.

It is interesting how the Architect has morphed from a talking darkspawn to that rather art deco looking guy he is now.  Wonder how that happened.  I am very curious about the Architect actually.  I was when I read the book, but even more so now.  Who is he?  Where'd he come from?  LOL...gah...I'm too geeked out for my own good, I know.Posted Image

So, he's in "The Calling?"  I guess I really should get that & read it.

Not surprising. On the HN story he will only save you if you promise to be a Grey Warden.  As your father is dying and everything that he holds dear is about to be destroyed, Duncan manipulates him to surrendering his child to him.

Yes, and this from a man who didn't want to be a Grey Warden and made sure everyone knew it.
