I really had no problem with cash in my game.. I finished it with more than 150 gold coins that I was unable to use... And I bought a lot of things.... included a ring which costed nearly 90 gold coins...
At end game, cash is not a problem, but early game is another matter. Buying the talent/skill books asap s a priorty and cash is tight at this point. 8 gold for ugly armour I will never use helps alot ...
At the beginning of the game I used to pick up every single thing.. swords, daggers, bows... You have much of them during Cousland's Origin.. When I went to Ostagar I sold them to Quartermaster and then I had already 5 gold coins.. After Korcary about 10 and I had already bought some things form quartemaster... After it I went to Lothering and there I began with side quests... So I had really no problem with money...
Hmmm, I must be doing something wrong then...I usually wind up with very little by Lothering unless I do sell that armor. Probably just my real life reflecting in the game...money and I tend to be strangers.

Me too!
And good morning everyone.
I honestly haven't found a class I don't enjoy in this game. I am working my way through different builds. A good healer build is a bit boring unless you are playing a harder mode. Then it is very busy.
Pure healer is boring, but usually I combine it, sometimes with ironic combinations hehe... My current evil mage is Blood Mage / Spirit Healer. You can still deal normal damage on the side with all the basic mage spells and use the heals, there's only 8 healing spells (4 base once including some mass rejuvenation etc and 4 spirit healer spells).
Btw BloodMage/Spirit Healer is pretty cool, when you run out of mana just switch to blood to heal!

Also!! please check the quartermaster before entering the wilds and after. He sells backpacks for VERY cheap.. + 20 slots before you even get out of Ostagar

Yes noticed that... always wondered if this was intentional or a bug... he also refreshes the health poultices after you leave the wilds... almost like he gets recreated from scratch hehe!Liso66 wrote...

Hmmm, I have to admit that my evil mage made Wynne the blood mage/spirit healer...it just had a certain irony to it. Teach her to meddle in my romances!

Yes, and mighty handy too!
I agree that starting as a rogue (especially HN) helps with the early cash flow. I haven't played any other RPGs but have read that in other games there are things like a warrior's bash to open locked chests. That would be nice.

I do the same as you, but the dwarf camp merchant has 2 books. Then I usually go to Denerim first thing after getting Sten and Leliana, and before any Lothering quests, for the Archivist Belt (gives 50% more exp for codex discoveries) and he has spell books. Then, I usually get the dwarf merchant random encounter early game, he has another book ... Early game is expensive ..

Teach her to meddle in my romances! To be fair on Wynne however she does apologize/admit she was wrong later on AND even defends you in a banther later on if you're dating Morrigan. When Alistair asks her after she apologized to you what she thinks of you and Morrigan she states that you might have a good influence on her.
Very true, she does indeed. Shame on me...I am a bad, bad person.

Noble Origin.. as a rogue. you clean up nicely prior to Ostagar. And can make a few gold pieces with the quartermaster. Max has the right of it. If playing a warrior though? you lose out.

The backpacks from Ostagar are essentials for your economy..

I do find it annoying that the max is 125 slots though. there are enough packs to get higher than that.. I am also a packrat when it comes to looting
Errrr ... .mods for this as well ................ although over 125 will prob break your game ...

BTW.. Inventory system is one the few features of this game I didn't like too much..I would prefer a personal inventory for every single character... as in NWN2 for example...
Huh?? you mean nwn 1? nwn 2 was much like this one.

Same for me.. I use mods just when I am sure the game is no-more supported..
