BTW.. Inventory system is one the few features of this game I didn't like too much..I would prefer a personal inventory for every single character... as in NWN2 for example...

Huh?? you mean nwn 1?  nwn 2 was much like this one.

No I was meaning BG2 not NWN2... damn taint in my brain !

It is easy to get our games mixed up, huh Max? lol

I am mod-less. I am likely to remain mod-less. I am a modaphobic. ;)

Oh not me! I like to live dangerously!   "laughs"  I have a few mods installed.  And with any luck and faith. they will update quickly for Awakenings.. hehe

As do I  run a few ............ ;)
However, I have mod that I really like and know it will not be up-dated ....;(  Really gutted about this ...
Fortunatly, most of the rest are hi-res texture replaces so these will run fine, and NPC and character gen face mods with very active people behind them.

NWN1 inventory was horrible.. I had magic bags full of other magic bags which were full of other magic bags full of items... tons of items which often I also forgot to have :)

Yes because If you had a magic bag which reduced the weight of 100% you could put all your others magic bags full of items inside of it and therefore you had 0% of weight carried on.. the problem was just.. "where did I put that item?"... let's begin to open the bags and the bags inside the bags... Oh damn !!!

OMG...that sounds way too complex for me.  Perhaps the designers were wearing the Helm during their creation of the game mechanics?Posted Image

lol no with NWN 1 every item had a weight, like armor had lots of weight (20 kg) whereas a potion had little weight (0.1 kg)... Your strength indicated how much you could carry mostly something like 200 kg I think it was, then you had magic bags that would limit the weight, there where some that lowered the weight with 100% and they where just limited to their slots.
But yeah like they others said you ended up with things like a magic bag that lowered weight to 50% or something and then inside there where 5 magics bags that lowered the weigth with 100%... etc etc... :)

I think they had a defective helm.  Ours is newly created and would never inspire something so silly as bags of holding    LOL

Yes... it's high probable... When I was at the end of the adventure I had about 5 levels of bags to open sometimes, before finding the items...     Posted Image

I played through NWN1 many, many times ....

NWN2 I never made it to Chapter 3 of the OC .... bought but never played MoTB, but did play though SoZ... I was soo pissed at the quality of the game at release and the dreadful patching process... We waited months for each patch that broke more than it fixed ... then they would have to release a hotfix to fix the patch ... terrible, terrible ...

Since switching to Win7, cannot be arsed to re-install it ...

Well I guess they thought that was adding some realism to a game? Can just imagine when you actually needed something from the bag within the bag within the bag it could be a time consuming process.  "Yeah, sure, be right with you, horrible monster type...just need to find that <bleeping> potion first."  Posted Image

Actually, I must be the only person who liked SoZ!! The over-land map encounters got a bit tedious, but I still liked the feature. At least it was something different from that tedious OC ....

SoZ was very divided in the community.. It was a love or hate.. The change was a shock to the system. However.. may main reason for not liking it, was story light.. It barely even have a story. And adventurer turned merchant? Seriously! Ewwww. that was so lame. Not to mention the lack of explorable areas.. the OLM was the game..

I would have been VERY ticked off if I had to pay for SoZ... Luckily..  I was a reviewer and got mine free,.    LOL

Yes.. the problem was after you had already killed some monster... later, in another moment of the adventure maybe you opened a bag in order to find something and then find yourself saying... "Oh..look at that object.. It would be very useful with that monster that I killed 2 days ago Posted Image

It was 50% RPG (with an horrible/unconsistant plot) and 50% managerial.. As I hate managerial games I hated it too...

If you want a good laugh, go over to the NWN2 forums...... Only the die-hard D&D crowd left there navel gazing over their D20's .... The community is pretty much dead and few are slagging DA:O cos all the active gamers have switch over.

The lawsuit between Hasbor and Atari over licensing has killed the franchise. There should be a 4th edition crpg in development right now, but everything is blocked... Quite sad really ...

Yep... knew that  :)  Atari has become a joke anyway...  They have been struggling due to bad business ventures and choices for a while now....

and yeah.. only the diehard DnD'ers or people that do not like to move on.. are still there.  ;)
