I find it quite odd that many people think games and puzzles, any sort - board, computer/video, P&P, are for teenagers only ... That if an 'adult' does these things, they are being frivolous, and only .. 'proper' adult games like bridge, poker, chess, etc are ok ...
I like these games also, bridge is a great game, but I would never give up the others to only play bridge ..
Never played Bridge. My mom promised to teach me ages ago, it never happened.
I do know several card games though.
As for gaming... Well.. been a video gamer since pre teen.. so eh.. it is in my blood! Games like DA:O and Mass Effect are finally targeted to the more adult gamer. We are not so few, that it is not worth the cost. As sales have proven
I'm so relieved to read the word "Adult - gamer" I like the boards, but i always have the feeling to talk to kids who are just home from school, and that makes me feel so old. Especially as i always thought "when you're grown up, you'll stop gaming". But obviously i didn't, and i doubt i ever will. I can only hope my retirement home will have a console and big TV screen

After I joined Bioware Forum I understood it was a common problem...
Common problem? I do not find it a problem in the least!!! Though, It is nice to see how common it is!! lol
It was not a problem to me.. The problem was to my boss who sometimes asked me "Hey Max.. what are you doing all night long? You have a face like as you were not sleeping since a lot !!!"

I gew up with board and card games ...My dad taught me to play Cribbage when I was 10 ...
Computer/video games came much later for me as the tech got better ...
I 'wasted' sooo much time at uni playing bridge ....This is the chess of cards and very addicting ... It takes awhile to learn and even longer to play well ...
I started playing Cribbage about that age too. And as for bridge...well I was taught the basics but have never mastered it. So much finesse, and a language all its own. However, learning bridge made learning pinnochle much easier, I will say that.

Thx for the warm welcome. I have to avoid my boss at the moment, he one of those who believe gaming is for kids and might not like to catch me writing on a gaming board. But after playing DAO all night yesterday, work is just so dreadful today and it seems like the day just won't end.
Ahh.. put the Helm of the Asylum on him. He will be much miore pliable. lol

Card games are high-populars here in Italy... expecially if you live in a little town, as where I was born... It's a tradition of people here to play cards in the evening into pubs.. both young and old people..

@Lisa, I haven't played Euchre in years but I always enjoyed it. Some friends from Ohio taught us that game and many a night was spent drinking schnapps and playing Euchre.

Ahh, good to know there is another Crib player here!! 15 2, 15 4 ....
The finesse and language is what makes bridge so unique ... If you can learn the basics and get to a decent level in bridge, any other card game is a cake walk ...
One poker night years ago the lads wanted to play Hearts .... I told them I play bridge ... They said "so what"... I said,"ok, I warned you ..." After a few hands, they got the idea and didn't want to play Hearts anymore ...
