Btw, how hard is it to mod Mass effect. In DA:O you only had to place the file in the overide map, is the the same in this game?

However, I don't game on my PC any more, and really haven't for a few years.
I have a really comfy couch and a big screen TV, I don't need to worry about installing the game, CTDs, BSDs, or other issues... It's cheaper, too. Every time a new game comes out, you have to look at the specs on your PC, and at least every few games, upgrade either RAM, CPU, or Video Card.
I did the math one day, I own almost 3x as many computer games as Xbox games... The average cost of my PC games (including upgrades I had to do) is about $90, whereas for the Xbox it's $45.
Not having to spend 3 hours messing with it? Priceless!
Now, someone needs to make a sword and board for the 360 that'll emulate a controller, then I'd be in heaven!

Personally I feel that the game was originally designed with the console in mind, like it is with DA:O and the PC.
I never had any issue to play a 3rd-person-shooters with the gamepad. Hell some of the best 3rd-person-shooters are actually only available on consoles (Uncharted 1+2, Gears of War 2). While some complain about autoaim and stuff I never felt this way, the controls feel natural for me. I use and navigate thru the menus with speed and ease, no problems at all.
Mods are nice but honestly I rarely use them. There some cases where I heavily used mods (Silent Hunter, Oblivion) but only to fix a horrible broken game. I don’t feel the urged to use mods in ME, ME is just fine as it is for me.
As for the visuals I think the differences are negligible.

Every time? Two years. No upgrades. Mass effect 2 max settings.
$45, under sticker. Not possible.

Customisation, modding, more accurate controls. More likeley to have a compatible PC in 5 years than your console.
Console advantages
Lack of system requirement problems, simpler controls, no need for installation
Used to be PC was better for patches, but that's not the case anymore.

Yeah. It essentially comes down to what you prefer. Would you want better controls (mouse & keyboard) for a shooter, or more comfort as you sit on your couch in front of a big T.V.?
The XBOX360 isn't as linear with it's capabilities as the PC version is (you CAN mod with XBOX360, it's just a lot more complicated), but the two versions are essentially the same.
I don't get why console players say a big TV can only be used by consoles...my PC is on my 52 HDTV and I sometimes switch it back to Dual 24 inch monitors...I have a comfy couch and a really comfy chair.
Like some others said if this were Dragon Age I'd say go with the pc version but for Mass Effect 2 whichever you want. But word of advice if you do plan to buy it for PC get a Digital version for the incisior rifle code and than get back to me!!

PC is better, but the 360's ok, I guess. How you can enjoy playing a shooter with a controller I will never understand, though.
how you can enjoy playing a shooter with a mouse that is impossible to aim with I will never understand.
different strokes for different folks.

For a "shooter" mouse + keyboard is the best control system. Gamepads aren't as good, they're more suited to other types of games.

And as other people have suggested you can easily download a save game to replace the ones you lose. The only thing you wont be able to change is the first name which isnt that big of a deal.

I have it on the 360 for a few reasons:
- I have ME1 for the 360. Not really all that important as ME1 is like $20 now for pc, but still.
- It is a lot easier to insert disk and start playing rather than wait for it to install.
And the big one:
- I am better with a controller than a mouse+keyboard. Don't ask me why, because I don't really know.

A mouse is about 10x more accurate, precise, and quick than joysticks.
