I'm on a PC. A mouse and a keyboard can't be beat, plus the graphics and the modding (such as it is) is a definite advantage.

As a programmer that spends all day looking at a computer screen, it is the last thing i wish to do when i get home and want to relax, i prefer the 360 for that reason.

I play the Xbox 360 version, but all the additional draws of having it on PC would have me playing that version instead. Provided I had a good PC for gaming AT ALL, I can imagine that the benefits include higher framerates, readable text due to having an HD display, and all the modding fun that comes with being on a PC.

That said, I grew up with a joypad in hand. I like both mediums but I prefer to stick with what I started on as far as Mass Effect goes.

Every time a new game comes out, you have to look at the specs on your PC, and at least every few games, upgrade either RAM, CPU, or Video Card.

No

Every game that comes out these days is a port from the 360

I updated my computer in like 2007 and it still runs new games (e.g. Mass Effect 2) at 60 FPS

My computer can also be used for the following things:

- Watching TV
- Watching DVDs
- Writing documents of all kinds or chatting
- Voice chat
- Video chat
- Everything you could possibly imagine the Xbox 360 doing except accessing Xbox Live

Let me guess, you did not compute the cost of your 500 foot plasma TV in the cost of your console games? Nor do I include anything that I use for any other purpose than video gaming in considering video game purchases. My video card was like $300. PC games are $50 new. My 360 was $300. 360 games are $60 new. So yeah

Why do these threads always get posted? It always turns into a PC superior complex thread.

If I had played the Sega CD, I'm pretty sure I would've dropped consoles, too.

I'm a PC gamer who only finally broke down and bought a console because I just HAD to play ME1. I watched the development with drool streaming down my chin. When they turned around and released it on PC I was a bit disappointed, until I read about all of the problems and how bad the port was.

Long story short: I bought ME2 on 360 since that is where my ME1 was. After playing it and then seeing the vids of planet scanning on PC I wish I had gone PC. (Especially since save-game editing makes the ME1 importing issue moot.)

Well I will not bash console owners...BUT I must say that I absolutely love PC gaming, the feel of the keyboard+mouse...it just feels like more control in your hands, whereas a controller feels bulky and slightly awkward

that's my opinion tho, oh and if you buy a good desktop pc with good parts and overclocking potential for gaming it will easily last you 2-3 years (maybe even 4 if you're lucky),
its all personal preference

You obviously hate your job. Maybe you should try something else, you're only making things worse this way.

No, Mass Effect for the PC was a great port. Better graphics, inventory management, controls, etc. You only needed a good PC.

I Know Im biased here because Im very active in the modding community for this game. but I have to say PC PC PC.

Three Reasons:

1) Modding- we get to actually customize some things and sometimes fix things that Bioware should be ashamed they didnt fix themselves. (Normandy 8-bit windows)
social.bioware.com/project/2109/#files
2) Control with keyboard and mouse for me is just always superior to a joystick.

3) Portability- Personally I use an alienware modded laptop, so the ability for me to pretty much bring ME2 with me wherever I go is a big deal. I HAVE to bring my pc along with me for work and stuff. If I owned a 360 I would NEVER bring it with me ANYWHERE even if I knew I was going to be spending an entire day doing nothing while out of town.

Up to you honestly if you want to play it on pc or xbox. That being said i am sick and tired of "pc vs xbox" threads which most of the time inevitably turn into console wars.

My computer isn't good enough to run ME2. I lack the RAM and video card. However, I'm not naive enough to not acknowledge the benefits of playing a game like this on the PC. I originally played KOTOR on the XBox and it was easily my all-time favorite game, but then I unleashed it on my PC and I achieved a whole new level of amazing. The modding and customizations are where the PC versions shine. Controls on the PC are better, too, I'm sure. Graphics I could really care less about, honestly.

Anyone wanna buy my a new CPU??

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd you seem to forget that it takes a decent rig set up to be able to even play a game like ME or ME2.  SOME people cant afford to spent 2 grand every couple of years on a freaking new computer just so they can "think" they're better than the console community lol.  Unless you personally are going to buy me said new computer every couple of years to keep up with things, you can take your "High and mighty" attitude about the PC version and stuff it.

Judging by that post alone you have absolutely no idea about PC's at all.

First off none of us need to spend 2 grand on a pc every 2 years considering that a decent rig can last a couple of years.
Hell the reason people upgrade their PC's in the first place is to make it more powerful than it already is while a console is permanently stuck with what its built with.
In fact i wouldn't need to spend 2k just to build a decent rig, i could easily spend 1k and build a PC already more powerful than a console.

Am i being a PC elitist? No, i own a console too, and i prefer playing certain games on the console.

This "new PC every 2 years" is in the beginning of every new console generation, when the developers haven't discovered the limits of the next gen consoles, currently the limit is reached, so does the hunger of Hardware for PC games.

For example I build a middle class PC 2 years ago, and I still can play ME2 on highest settings in 1680x1050, 16xAF and 2xAA.

And another REALLY important (for me the most important) fact, that the PC is [personally] slightly better then consoles is the modding. Not only does modding (even ME2 is moddable, look at all these unlocked clothes) increase the lifetime of a game it is also the first step to become a professional game developer, like the guys who made CS. Or just look at all these fine Dragon Age Projects or Mods for Fallout3/Oblivion (these games are sooooo boring without mods).

I don't wanna say "PC is better than console" but all those guys saying "the PC is dead and every PC gamer is a WoW playing nerd" are, in my opinion, all ignorant a**holes!

And never forget: without PC no Baldurs Gate --> no successful Bioware --> no ME

Please, while I understand that you really like consoles and that everyone has differing tastes just don't flat out lie please.  Thank you.

Xbox 360.

I play my games in front of my HDTV, sitting on my cosy couch. ^^

I have a macbook for work, internet and movies, but my 360 is the gaming hub.

I never cared about modding (played FO3 without mods on 360 and with on PC and my char on 360 is just more immersive).

For a "shooter" mouse + keyboard is the best control system. Gamepads aren't as good, they're more suited to other types of games.
