Um, I call bull****?  Unless you have been taking a ****** on one a graphics card lasts just as long as consoles, I mean are you aware that your xbox has a graphics card itself?  So um, if graphics cards only last 2-3 years your xbox is gonna die soon so too...  Graphics cards don't burn out in 2-3 years, anyone who deals with computers can tell you that, so either A you're lying or B you don't actually deal with PCs at all and don't know what you're talking about, in which case you might as well just stop it.

I'm well aware that Aradace is just trolling, but I'm stuck at work on a friday so I'm bored and..well... :innocent:

Even so, seriously, if said graphics card last JUST AS LONG as a console the math STILL doesnt add up.  Your Xbox lasts 4-5 years lets say and so does your graphics card on your PC.  Suddenly, they both go out...You can either A.) Replace the 500$ Graphics card on your PC for a slightly better visual experience, or you can B.) Replace your Xbox and save a few hundred dollars.  Seriously, the math is simple.  Unless you or someone else is willing to pay for my replacement PC every few years, Im taking the money saving route and getting a console lol.

Protip: don't buy PCs at Best Buy. Or any other "complete pcs" anywhere. You can get a lot better and much cheaper pc by building it yourself. Building a PC is pretty easy, there's a lot of guides on the internet if you don't know how.

If you can use a PC go PC all the way. You can build a PC twice as more powerfull as an XBOX or even more powerfull than Twice for the same price.

XBOX360 is a very old machine nowadays. There is no comparaison possible a console or a PC.

Console can be as powerfull as the top PC only at the time they are released. Console game like ME2 and DAO start to feel way outdated next to Top PC games of nowadays.

If you want to play only games like ME2/DAO or console/PC port you can do it for cheaper on the PC than on the console. And with a better quality.

If new console to replace the XBOX360 or PS3 don't come out out soon, those kind of console gaming will be forgotten in favor of PC gaming. When you compare what you can get on console and on PC today for the same price, even with heavy marketing, they won't fool poeple much longer.

This thread again? Well, I guess both versions are great and its pretty much about favourite gaming system.

I like to play my games on Xbox 360 and I see no reason to play it on the other system. I bet PC fans would say the same about the PC version.

An 8800 GT, which is more powerful than an XBOX's GPU can be purchased under $200. Stop talking like you know anything and quit accusing pc players of suffering from superiority complex.

You're the one thats in denial and won't want to face the truth that a PC is more powerful than an xbox.

I play ME2 on PC, using a wireless Xbox controller from the comfort of the couch.

ME2 at 2560x1600 with forced AA is a sight to behold (and a lot better than xbox graphics). So for me personally I love the PC. Because it's a HUB for everything. Blu Ray, TV, Music, Internet, Games, Studies, Fornax etc. One box that does the whole lot. No separate tuners, games console, blu-ray. Just one shiny black blue emitting box.

If it was just for games though, I'd probably be an Xbox person. I don't really think one is better than the other, just depends on your needs.

That's true. Though you have to remember that PC games are cheaper so in the end you might end up spending more for gaming on a console than on a pc. The difference over here between a pc and a console game is 10-15 Euro so that's quite a lot.

I personally have both X360 and PS3, I don't play much on the X360 (only exclusives) as PS3 suits me better, and lately I've been playing a lot more on a console than on my pc, but when it comes to games from for BioWare or Valve, there's an unwritten rule to always go for the PC version if possible, especially with Valve.

PCs are great, not saying they arent...Hell, we all have them. My arguement is that I or anyone else shouldnt be ridiculed simply because we dont want to go replacing our rigs with the top of the line things that other people can obviously afford. If you can get a good CPU for 500$ somewhere, I'd like to know the name of your dealer because even at best buy the "good" rigs are upwards of around 1000$ And that's with factory graphics card. Upgrade the graphics card and you're easily paying 1200-1300.

And seeing as how my console has lasted just as long as most PCs have so far, I fail to see the "economics" behind it when I can save a few hundred dollars.

First, the only people being ridiculed  are those spouting ignorant, incorrect and outdated "facts" about the cost and ease of use of PC's when it comes to gaming. It's obvious by what they say that all they know about PC's as gaming platforms is about 10 years out of date.

So it understandably, upsets us PC gamers when we see they same old tired and erroneous statements being repeated ad nauseam.

PC gaming today is easy and for the most part trouble free, pretty much just like the consoles. Now a days I can buy ME2 at a local store, or pre-loaded on steam and play it at midnight the day of release. I don't have to worry about discs scratching or breaking or going missing, I can re-download whenever I want. Updates to drivers and games are 99% automatic and in the background. And the cost of a gaming Pc can be anywhere from $100 to $600 depending on your situation.

You heard right. $100 to $600, again depending on your situation. If you already have a fairly modern desktop you can usually turn it into a gaming PC simply by getting a decent gaming grade video card. The cost of which is about $100 (actually $80 to $120).  That's all it would cost you to be playing games on your PC. Now, if your PC is outdated (we're talking 5+ years) then you might have to buy a new one, and yes, a gaming PC can be had for $450 to $600. go to newegg.com, or buy.com or tiger direct, or a million other gaming PC sites and you'll find great rigs for that price range.

I have all of 5 games on my Xbox lol:  ME, ME2, DA: O, AC, and AC2.  Anything else, unless it is buy worthy, I rent from gamefly.  Which is another reason I enjoy console gaming more because as far as I know, you cant "rent" a PC game.  And with gamefly, I can play the game as long as I want before I decide to send it back.  And I can play usually upwards of 3-4 games a month depending on how long the game is etc etc.  Where as if someone wanted to play those on PC, theyd have to pay for all 3 or 4 or them.

I'm just curious what are some of the specs on these $450-600 gaming pc's? I use an Alienware M17x which is top of the line as to my understanding and paid WAY more for it yet I still have an occasional hiccup when playing even slightly older games like Supreme Commander while running SLI on (two) of the most powerful graphics cards you can possibly get in a laptop. I don't doubt you I'm just curious.

I also tried playing ME2 PC with a wireless Xbox Controller. But the inventory and other menus are just a pain in the ass to navigate through and among other things I really prefer ME2 for the 360.

The only game I liked playing on PC with a controller was FO3 and that is because it supports the wireless Controller.
I wish more games (I like) would do this.

But overall my Xbox is just my main gaming hub.

LOL ,gaming rigs are cheap these days, and much more powerful than the xbox. When you think that you pay $300 for an xbox, you pay more for the games,$10 a month for xbox live at $120 a year, then extra for peripharals like hard drives.A gaming rig will cost around $400-600 with no additional overheads, cheaper games, and when you upgrade you know all your old games are still going to work.

I've had my pc 3 years now and can stiill play every new game at high settings.

PC all the way tbh, xbox is only good for techtards

I use an Alienware M17x which is top of the line as to my understanding and paid WAY more for it yet I still have an occasional hiccup when playing even slightly older games like Supreme Commander while running SLI on (two) of the most powerful graphics cards you can possibly get in a laptop. I don't doubt you I'm just curious.

The bold bit is your problem, Alienware is overpriced for what you get, you're essentially paying for the brand name more than anything.  I can't comment on American stores, but in the UK I use Novatech, got some good parts there and they also do cheap bundles and prebuilt PCs too.

I'm just curious what are some of the specs on these $450-600 gaming pc's?
