Wasnt making it up...Back when I last updated my graphics card and PC, thats how much it was...So, as old as the info is, wasnt a lie.  It was based on my last dealings with having to buy and upgrade a PC.  Yes, I dont get out much because I prefer the solitude of home to crowds of people lol....The PC Im on right now, is well over 7 years old because we got it when my wife and I first got married.  And back then, crap was expensive.

The PC market has changed drastically since then, particularly once devs have realised that making a game only playable by the ubermensch PCs just meant that they were limiting their consumer base.  I think AMD also helped drived prices down by providing some competition to Intel, which helped stop the price inflation.  Pretty much the only reason to have a cutting edge PC is for the same reason to get a sports car.

You DO lie. See the part where you declared that we needed to spend 2 grand to build/upgrade a pc every two years and were then promptly smashed to pieces.

Well with a good mouse, planet scanning on the PC is actually a breeze *hugs Logitech MX518*

Other than that, you get higher resolution on the PC without large framerate penalties, since all Unreal Engine 3 games basically run the same way.

As for the rest, I prefer the game with a mouse and keyboard just because that's how I prefer shooters and the majority of ME2's gameplay is shooting.

I just feel personally persecuted and/or crucified with topics like this...I feel like my choice of gaming platform is being looked down upon which in turn, pisses me off, which in turn reminds me of going through High School and having to give beatings and take beatings for my mentally handicapped cousin because of folks who wanted to act like they were better than her.

So yea, as bad as it sounds on me, it sucks. And it just burns me up to see this kind of thing. Yea, I understand you believe PC gaming is better...But also realize that it is your OPINION. Just like there are those that believe the opposite...Again, opinion. And as long as someone states that its their opinion and not try to pass it off as fact, it doesnt bother me as much...But when it's people who say **** like "Consoles are for techtards" and the like, it makes me want to....well...be VERY violent.

PC is straight up better.  Upgradable, moddable, keyboard and mouse, and you can still hook it up to a TV

Aye, I love my Saitek Cyborg mouse, they may not be the most durable thing in the world but I just couldn't do without the hat switch on them anymore! :D

Logitech G7. I hate ze cables. And the Xbox controller is dressed in a lovely blue silicon cover to avoid those nasty sticky bits that gather on long gaming nights. Also wireless.

Aradace, brah, if you can't handle a discussion without lying or ridicule yourself, maybe you should go back and play some Halo. You like that, right ?

:) ,Sorry if i offended you.

I have no problem with console users because in some way consoles are better, for instance for chilling out on the sofa and playing. What i don't like is when console gamers try to convince pc users that the consle is better and cheaper,i think both these arguments are moot.

If you add up all the additonal costs of console gaming then your starting to get into decent gaming rig terriritoy and for the same price the gaming rig will more than likely be 3 times more powerful.

That is because you are not very smart.
You try to defend your statements with lies and threats.

How do you think all the intelligent ones in here react to this.

I feel very sorry for you, but that´s just how it goes.

Ah!  I prefer cords personally, as I'd forget to charge them up otherwise, and you'd probably hate all the entangled cords around mine! :D  Was asking as I'm trying to find a more durable mouse than the one I currently use that still has all the buttons, yours does look very swish though.

You know I dont like Halo, we've had that discussion before :P...But yea, in light of it...Probably a good idea...Because I dont deal with politics/being PC/settling disputes/ with words very well.  When someone pisses me off, I beat them senseless...And when I dont have access to do that when said person pisses me off, it pisses me off more so yea.  Time for me to go.  And yes, Im not very smart.  (by today's obvious standards lol) I only have an IQ of 130 which from what Ive been told is pretty average so yea, Im an average joe at best lol.  I was good at what I did in the military and that's about it so yea.  I'll take your advice and make a permanent check out from the forums and leave all the tech jargen and whatever to the smarter folks.  lol.

There's no reason to call the guy unintelligent. Just uninformed. But Ardace You've now been informed. Please stop repeating incorrect premises about PC gaming. If the xbox is the platform for you cool. There's nothing wrong with that. there's also nothing wrong with having a preference that is either limiting or does not offer as many bonuses.

I drive a KIA for example. A lot of people wonder aloud why I didn't get some other brand of car. I can still be happy with my choice without rationalizing my decision by attacking all other car manufacturers. I don't have to say that BMW's crash and burn in order to be happy with my KIA. There'a platform for everyone just like there's a car for everyone.

You are limiting yourself though as a gamer when you only have one platform to choose from. I have a PC and a Wii for example. I like Wii sports resort :)

Yes,I understand why gaming on a dedicated Game System (console) is inferior to PC gaming.

My theory is that the whole "faster, stronger, better" nonsense does not work with consoles. No Uran ultra power supply for the fourth Graphic card or Cryo stasis chamber for the proccessor to overclock to 20 Ghz let your xbox360 game look any better then that of your schoolmate.

I just wish the whole ME franchise would have been kept console exclusive to get rid of the PC elitist with too much money and a superior complex.

Apparently the CoolerMaster CM Storm Sentinel is pretty durable. Heard many good things about it.  Also SteelSeries IKARI mice are pretty awesome...Er...on topic because choice of different controllers is something PC has over Xbox.
Yeah. Well run with that.  The G7 is easy to charge, because it has a little square battery that has a quick release and you swap it over with the charger on the desk, also a quick release.  And thank you for your kind words. My mouse appreciates it. It doesn't get appreciated much.

The answer will always be that PC is better simply because you can upgrade it and make it better. 360 is a 360 is a 360, there is no way around it and dont get me wrong the 360 is a nice machine that makes Mass Effect look good and its relatively cheap. But the PC is just better overall, I have both versions and compare them often. I still like the look of my PC version head over heels to my 360.

But "faster, stronger, better" does work on consoles, in the form of home theater specs and even occasionally console mods. Your post does not address the fact that the PC version has considerable improvements on the Xbox version, including the hot bar, mouse control, ability to multitask with other applications, and decreased likelihood of your system melting down and having to be sent to Seattle for the third time since you got it.

I have both the 360 version and the PC version, do you?

That or you can get one of the top tier PCs now and still have it be a decent piece of hardware a few years down the line before you might need to ever upgrade components.

And to get in on the entire console vs. PC discussion: The PC is better for gaming all around. It isn't elitist, it is simple fact. The PC has far more resources that it can draw upon (dependant upon the user's hardware and software) than a console does.

In truth, much of the newer features that the current generation of consoles has are basically PC features. Patching, DLC (which are basically nothing more than mods), etc.

As for the feeling of elitism from PC users? How many times on this forum has the PC gotten a small patch to resolve certain issues and inside that thread you'll have console owners complaining that they didn't get a patch. This is extremely frustrating as console users forget that nothing has to be submitted to anyone to distribute a PC patch. A console patch is, most likely, required to be shipped off to the console manufacturer for verification before they will distribute it! The same thing goes for DLC!

That is another reason why the PC is better for gaming. Because it doesn't require that Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo verification process. It can be released when the project is finished and shipped to be burnt onto disc. Consoles require approximately a month wait time before they can be pressed because of their verification process.

Hopefully after this thread everyone realizes that the 360 is just a computer that you can't modify and with a convenient interface, not a hardware device of alien origin with components that are magically more cost-effective than a PC's. You can even use a PC in a manner that is almost identical to a 360, that is, hooked up to a home theater, with an Xbox controller, in 1080p, and no you don't need to spend more money than you would on a console for periodic updates, so I don't see what the deal is.

I have an old Socket 939 AMD setup I put together myself in 2004. A couple of years back I switched out the CPU for an Opteron 180 that I got on sale and replaced the GPU with an 8800 GTS. Since then I haven't done anything with it.

ME2 runs perfectly well at 1920x1200 with high detail level, and even something as demanding as Bad Company 2 runs acceptably (after the last client patch, anyway). That's the first game in a while that has made me consider upgrading, though.

I could never play a game like ME2 on a console. I can't stand playing anything even vaguely FPS-like with a console controller.

I dunno where people got "LAWL you need to drop 2 grand every 2 years to play good video games."

My computer is 5 years old and it still runs Mass Effect 2 better then the Xbox 360.

You can drop just under a grand and probably get double the power my PC has.
