I never even heard of ME1 in the first place... then ME2 came out and all my fellow dudes were buying it. My opinion on the game was "just another ****ty game" as I expected my fellow dudes did not like this and were always going on at me... so I finally borrowed it thinking "omg give it 10 minutes ill be bored to ****"... 10 minutes in WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! This is currently now my favourite game and I truly regret not playing the first... just wanted to post this to show my appreciation of such a good story even though I only played half of it. =)

Not really... First sentence = present tense, second = past tense.
His friends all loved it, tried to get him into the game, he resisted, thought it'd be ****, finally grudgingly gave it a chance thinking it's gonna be crap and lo and behold... best game ever

Stop playing the 2nd game. Go buy the 1st. Play it, then start with the 2nd again. Taking the same character through the first game and into the 2nd is totally worth it.
