Expect a lot of "No!"s, however. This is certainly a hot button.

How would switching weapons or choosing powers work online?Rodriguer2000 wrote...
ok i dont really understand how would it take away game mechanics if you didnt like just dont play it it wouldnt do anything to mess up the game in my opinon
I'm not against the idea, i just think it would be too big of a task when Bioware should focus primarily on the Story.

Though I know some would enjoy seeing this come to pass, it would require WAY too much time and effort to do all this. Probably enough time to write a brand new game from scratch. The game might already be out and pretty much finished, this idea would entail them to completely re-write the game again (yes I'm repeating myself, but that's the biggest point). There a lot of other reasons why it wouldn't work in ME2, but the biggest reason is because of code.
Perhaps if you can get enough people for the next game, or maybe some kind of ME spin-off game. But as far as ME2 would be concerned, there will not be a co-op mode.

it could be done, fable 2 did it. it would likely have to work like this, the host player is shep and the guest (or guests as you could have up to two) would pick from which ever squaddies are available. this would prevent inconsistancies as you could only those who've you recruited. but it would be very difficult to implement properly and likely wouldn't
It worked for Fable 2 because the gameplay was built to support it. ME2 was not. So, as you said: it would be very difficult to implement properly. Especially now.

if not online then what split screen? ew..no...
regardless it's not something that's easily "patched" in...it requires a lot of code re-writing and adapting that simply wouldn't give a return of investment in money and time spent doing it.
you're not gonna see it.

Aye, co-op generally refers to playing online. Honestly, unless your in middle or high school, or just starting college, most folks don't have any time to get together to play games a lot. The multi-player aspect is useless if it's restricted to just playing split-screen.

In all honesty, multiplayer for Mass Effect would ruin the immersion.

multiplayer RPGs are boring anyway...
ever played co-op on Tales of Vesperia? it's fun enough when you're
fighting, but the second player tends to get bored very quickly because
he/she has to wait while player 1 goes around and buys gear, talks to
people, triggers cutscenes, etc.
Also, this^

Ah, you mean the one where you fight off wave after wave of covenent forces, and you have a timer (or just something timing you, don't remember only did it once and didn't have much fun with it personally) and the faster you kill them the more points you get and longer you can play or something? Yeah, they really should've made that online applicable. Wasn't much fun doing itby yourself.
I know a lot of gamers, but we're always busy with school, work, and general life issues. Not a lot of time to gether together to play games together. And even then, most of the time it's more than 4 of us, and most console games only fit up to four folks. And we're all big Halo and Ghostbuster fans (Ghostbusters is really fun multi-player game).
