So what exactly is this SQL database thing? Is it a bioware server which the toolset HAS to connect to?
Been trying to install the toolset,, and can do that just fine, but this bloody SQL database 2005 just refuses to work for me, do I have to be logged in to my DAO account or what?

The SQL server is a database server on your machine. The database contains the resources required for building a module.
There are some known issues with getting the toolset to work with the database. Check the wiki for info and troubleshooting tips.
...and no, you don't have to be logged into your DAO account to work with the toolset.

If the problem is with the SQL server installation, I also suggest a google search. The MSDN forums have a lot of threads related to getting the MS SQL server installed and running, not to mention the host of access-related issues.
