"Note: If you speak to Ser Gilmore before he activates the dialogue with you, you will not receive the key needed to open the door. "
I guess I spoke to him first, because I have no key. Now what? Start over?

Okay, now what's really weird is I just loaded the auto save from when he wakes up, and there's Blood Armor in my inventory, which I'm not supposed to have. WTF, mate? Is this their way of saying "sorry we made another buggy game and wasted a bunch of your time."
So your time is wasted because you got free loot?

No. it’s their way of saying here is one piece of blood armour for you at the start and you can get the rest from the merchant in camp... exactly like it says on the information tag that you missed reading.<3Michaelcj5 wrote...

BTW, for a 60+ hour game DA:O is relatively (emphasis added) bug free. There are certainly less bugs than I have found in other games that are much, much shorter and far less complex.
Believe me, you will find many other things, that will be far more fun, to complain about as you go along.
Have fun!

My time is wasted because of how buggy their games are. Both this and Mass Effect 2. Apparently you didn't read the previous posts.
Why? Because I didn't respond to your original problem to which others already had and which you had figured out?
People have to address everything you have said in the thread to respond to your latest post?
You got unlucky. There is one bug in the origins stories and you ran into it.
I hope they will fix it soon. Especially early on in the gameplay experience bugs reflect extremely badly on a game and it's developers.
But as bugs go, I have run into 5 in Dragon Age and none so far in ME2. (I had 3 bugs in ME1)
So you have a choice, either give the game a chance and go on playing or write it off as wasted money and seriously reconsider buying another bioware game that isn't on a budget sale.
If you decide not to buy another one, I would actually suggest writing it on the forum. Youll get flamed to hell, but a non-purchase tells a company far more if they are also told why.

You ARE supposed to have a single piece of Blood Armor at that point. You will pick up the other three pieces later. Not a bug.

I didn't have the Blood Dragon armor the first time I played. When I loaded the game from an earlier auto save it was suddenly there.

It just seemed by your response that you had totally misunderstood what the situation was.

It has to download and install, and will appear immediately in your inventory upon the next reload once that is done.Michaelcj5 wrote...

That's all.
It's not a bug.

after youve killed the howe guards, DO NOT click on ser gilmore, you have to wait until the game initiates the cutscene, else the door will be bug locked

What you people don't seem to get about the armor is that I'm not supposed to have it! It wasn't there before, and I loaded a game and suddenly it's there! The unfortunate thing is that now when I start the game it gives me some warning message about it, and while I'm playing I keep getting popups saying that it can't connect to the network or something.
Blood dragon armor is DLC.
DLC is, unsurprisingly, downloaded.
The first time you create a character you won't have all of your DLC items unless you wait for them to finish downloading and installing before you start.
When you reload the game, however they will spawn.
THAT IS HOW THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO WORK.
If you get popups that means you aren't signed into your account, which is the DRM on the DLCs needing to be connected to the internet when you first load up your character, otherwise it disables the DLC on your game.
Again, THAT is not a bug.
The locked door was a bug, the armor is DLC working as it is supposed to work.

If you bought the game new, then you're supposed to have the blood dragon armor.
