Yeah, you heard me right. I want more DLC and I would buy it if it was available. Like return to Ost.. yeah, um whatever did happen to that one? So don't be calling me ungrateful. I'm annoyed that there was all this hype about DLC and coming out sooner or later. Now it's much much much later and there isn't much DLC. I don't mind paying for it. I'm not broke and I have a job. Plus I'm studying so that when the economy shapes up I can get a better job. Then there's some person who can't scrape together 40 dollars and calls me ungrateful. Sounds lazy to me.

it's not that i can't, it's that i probably shouldn't, and you are ungrateful, the games been out less then a month and they're already announcing a DLC with 5 missions in it, which is a helluva lot more then anyone else out there usually does. so take the criticism you deserve.

Agreed.

"Much much later?" What? The game was out Jan 26th and you got a new mission and new character.

Free

A couple weeks later you got a new armor and weapon.

Free

Now you get a definitive date on a new 5 mission pack and a new heavy weapon.

Free

What did you expect? 15 hour expansion packs every month until ME3?

WTF do you want? Better question, where the hell do you get off with this sense of persoanl entitlement?

Nobody gives a rodent's posterior if you have a job or the money to spend because that's not the point. The point is that Bioware really doesn't owe you jack squat but the game, yet you seem to think that you're not only owed much more, but owed it according to your timetable.

Ungrateful schmuck.

Not to complain really, but the current swath of DLC feels like stuff cut out from the main game. What did we get? Zaeed (1 loyalty mission, 20 mins tops of gameplay), Normandy crash site (1 mission, less than 10 mins of gameplay), 1 gun and 1 armor (pretty useless) and now the hovertank (initially promised in the game).
I know it's free, but on the other hand, I would not pay for it (loved DA:O, but haven't bought RtO either). All this bitesized DLC seems like a cheap trick, used to keep interest at low (or zero) cost since it's mostly content cut out before release. I'd rather have the devs spend more time fixing the game (AA? PC UI?) or work on something more meaty than 15 mins of shooting. I think the type a mission ME1 had (think Noveria/Pheros) would be a good target, or, one can dream, a real expansion pack (like in the days of BG2 and NWN).

My 2 cents.

Awesome! Thanks! I never expected it to be free!

Now with that being said, I'm hoping they have their entire dev team working on some big downloads that will be worth 800 to 1200 points :)

There are SOOOOO many things they could do that expand on story or add new story to this universe.

download missions that allow you to interact with old characters more? Wrex and Liara for example? I can see lots of possibilities there.

I also can imagine going through one of the un-mapped relays in an emergency to discovery a whole new area with a whole new race that could be a side threat with all new challenges to deal with.

know it's free, but on the other hand, I would not pay for it (Since no one asked you to it's a moot point ultimately)

Is it odd that the first thing I thought of was that there should be an Inner Space mission where we shrink down have a mission inside somone?  Yes it probably is.

Well, it's not free, at least not really. Everyone pays for it when they buy the game. "Free" additional content was announced well before the game was released (of course, promises concern only people believing them). The difference is you're buying into a promise (DLC is coming at no added cost) versus a known quantity (it's in the game). Furthermore, free doesn't mean good value. If something sucks and I try it, I've lost my time and cannot get it back, whether it was free or not (this doesn't apply to the DLC so far). For the same reasons, the fact it's free doesn't render moot whether I would pay for it. If I get something I value much for free, it makes me more likely to purchase further content. If I get passable content, even for free, it would have the opposite effect. So, is something given for free as a gesture of goodwill? To drum up interest? Or because no one would pay for it?

Just FYI: It's not free.
You already paid for it when you bought the game ;-)

Don't have a problem with that as long updates don't take too long (paying in advance is always burning holes in my pocket) but don't consider it free, just because it's delivered out of the box.

Compared to every other piece of DLC for every other game where you have you buy the stuff with Micrsoft Points,
all of this ME2 content thats included in the price is as free as it gets!
As far as I can tell, I've only paid for the game itself and got a whole lot more in return without having to spend a penny extra.

"No one would pay for it?" Ummm...someone will always pay for something.

Put a rock in a box, put "Pet Rock" on the box, make $3,000,000.

A good thing we're getting DA:O:A then right? :) Thats a full expansion, 4 months after release.

Regarding content cut out of the original games DA:O, the devs have stated on multiple occations that the only content that was cut was Stone prisoner, but since they had the time to finish it before launch, they included it for free with every new copy of DA.

WK and RTO was not cut from the full game.

When it comes to ME, I have no idea if Hammerhead was planned to be in the game at launch, but since they're releasing it for free it hardly matters. And even if the Hammerhead missions are only 20-30 mins each, it'll still mean its 1 hour 40mins up to 2,5 hours of totally free gameplay. I havent finished DA:O yet, so I'll probably get ME2 late march anyway.

And who knows we might also get  to buy bigger  DLC for ME2 in the future, the game is only 1 month.

To cancausecancer:

Geth turning on us would be far too big to be included in the optional package, I really do doubt those missions would have big impact on the storyline

If yoru assumption is correct, that the dlc is content that was merely cut from th game, then there shold be no issue with it being free, it could have been micro tranacted, or even worse. Bioware could have done what Ubisoft did with Assassins Creed 2. The DLC was confirmed missing chapters of the game that weren't ready/completed at launch, and they charged $10 combined for the 2 missing chapters/missions (2 hours of gameplay no achievemnts/trophies). At least Bioware isn't charging for the content.

Bioware.... I think I love you.

As fun as the Hammerhead sounds I can only hope there is a way to repeat missions with it so we can have even more fun with it. Yes blowing things up at 120 kph sounds like a metric crapton of fun. :o
