I would bet this stuff will deliver after the time that Awakening comes out.
I think I'll play through Awakening before I put the hurt on this stuff.

Considering the same team works on both games
I think the new weapon will come the 10th, and the DLC itself not before the 25th.
Wait & see

BTW Bioware, thanks for making it free with Cerberus package. You probably could've charged around $20 or so for this DLC but gave it to the fans for free who legitimately bought the game. This is one happy gamer.

@yakko
I understand the sentiment, but charging for the hammerhead would have been an outrage. They completely REMOVED the planet exploration element from the game.
In a sequel to ME1, where it was such a large element, not having it in the game from launch is already quite a big letdown. If they had made everyone pay for it, it would have been a gross breach of consumer trust.
So while I agree it's good that it's free, it really couldn't have been purchasable dlc. Unless they wanted to add insult to the injury of a complete lack of space exploration.
It would be like making Assassin's Creed 3 with only the climbing elements available on launch, then releasing all the combat elements at later date, and on top of that, making people pay for it.

Now don't get me wrong, having a new heavy weapon would be great, but we kinda have a lot of devices of instant doom at this point. If they wish to bring out a highly unique way of making-things-terminally-dead then by all means bring it on.
However, what would be even more fun for myself (not sure about everyone else) is a melee class weapon. One of the highlights of ME2 was the Vanguard's Biotic Charge ability. Sure, in the begining it's a little stupid to just go leaping in there at lvl 1, but the later upgrades seriously make the thing VERY fun. The high-risk, high-reward factor of zooming in there up to a maercs face only to pummel 7 shades of snot out of them and still be standing afterwards made me clap my hands in mirthless glee!
At this point, if a melee weapon was available, I'd be saying "f**k yeah!!!" a lot.
Really, it doesn't have to be much. A ball-peen hammer or a pair of children's safety scissors would do it.
But some kind of bayonette or combat knife would be cool also.
Just sayin'

@Adster09 it would be totally epic to have some sort of fistweapon/combat knife of a sci-fi design! I agree with you it would definitely give the game a lot of "WHAT NOW BIAT*H" moments lol

This is great news, Bioware. A driveable vehicle and more planets to explore!. Here's hoping even more planets will open up in the future and that the Hammerhead handles better than the Mako.

I don't know if it has been asked already but will we be able to explore planets on our own or is it just those 5 missions?

Is there going to be any DLC that would include raising the max level for importing into next game?

There has been no announcement regarding raising the level cap. And i don't think a DLC will do that. I expect an addon you have to buy that raises the Level cap.

So is it worth it to start a new play through, or should I just continue from the end and play the new DLC?

Just because the have recorded the clips for Kasumi and done her character art doesn't mean she was done.
