According to the Codex from the first game, the Terminus systems were inhabited by various minor races that were not from theCitadel races, yet we go to the Omega station and see all Citadel races there (except for Batarian). Only the Vorcha are new.
They should have worked on some races for this game and I don't mean the half million or so Drell walking the galaxy.

I was under the impression that the Terminus System was huge and the planets you visited were those that had Council races on them. Whose to say that there aren't planets with races never before seen by Shepards eyes.

I equate the terminus systems to 'wild space' in star wars or one of the many DMZ or border zones in star trek... claimed by many, controlled by none, explored not fully. It is possible that shep and co. only went to planets where they knew they could do business, communicate, refuel, etc, without much trouble and that is why we don't see the minor races alluded to in the first codex entry...

Batarians are new to me, I didn't have the money to spare in order to buy BDTS in ME1.

In the next game they should introduce at least 4 or 5 species. The Vorcha are an afterthought.
