I think if you hit the gay romance dialogue, the game should start playing The Village People songs in the background.
Definitely. 'Macho Man' would be a good choice and 'In the Navy' would work particularly well for Shep/Jacob or Shep/Kaidan.

The whole Gianna thing is a bit stupid IMO. Why don't I get a kiss on the cheek? A kiss on the cheek is hardly something controversial. I kiss friends on the cheek all the time and certainly don't plan to hit on them. Why don't I get a kiss on the cheek from Parsini? Doesn't she consider Femsheps to be friends?Lightice_av wrote...
Gianna will only do that to MShep anyway, and there's no guy even doing that to FShep, so I wouldn't worry about that kind of prospect. Also please don't have any unavoidable Paragon scenes with NPC's where a guy will kiss the male Shep on the cheek like Parisini did on Illium. Just throwing that out there... :S

ME 2 SPOILER WARNING FOR FEMSHEP X JACOB!!!!
Someone can't take a hint.
You know... before I saw this I quite liked Jacob. He was a bit starchy, but seemingly a decent enough guy.
Ever since I saw it I've wanted to ruthlessly bludgeon him with a hammer.
You me and several other people. *shakes head* Whoever wrote that scene *shudders*

There are a couple of threads about it on page one, but basically they reference a possible expansion pack centered solely around relationships.

I LOL'd at "Take Leliana on a date" pack. Table for two at the Gnawed Noble Tavern!
I'm not sure how I feel about that. It just seems like something to appease fanboys/girls while just perpetuating the stereotype of Bioware fans that "we're all losers who can't get laid so we want some virtual love to make up for it". Then again, if it's good content and a good value in terms of cost I'd probably get it.

Cause she was attrated to Mshep and not to Fshep? And maybe she doesnt kiss all her friends on the cheeck like you do?

Uh... BioWare is a very successful company. If that what they do makes the fanboys/girls with not enough hmm... social life... happy than that's very fine with me.
But we'll see how their sw-mmo will have an impact on the social life of nerds all over the globe

WAT. I was referring to the fundamentalist christian attitude towards gays, not the general christian (i.e. I couldn't care less if you're gay, as long as you're a nice person) one.Images wrote...
You're only hating God if you believe that there is one. I had imaginary friends as a child too but I don't tell my co-workers off if they're actions would displease them!
Not bashing the Christians too much but its cool if they say, I disaprove of your lifestyle as it runs counter to my own morals and belief system but this whole, "you're pissing off the allmighty!"attitude is for the birds. His existence is not fact. Just belief. There's nothing wrong with belief and spirituality, or debating morals and the concept of the human soul. It is one of the things that makes our humanity unique. But saying you're annoying an entity who's existence is debateable is just thick.

Ugh that's why I avoid Jacob like the plague and try to skip through his dialogues as quickly as possible. The only reason I do his loyalty quest now is to get the pistol upgrade, otherwise I'd avoid doing it altogether.
Darn those pesky upgrades. Gotta catch 'em all! But how to do it whilst ensuring that certain members of the crew still suffer horrible, lingering deaths? Decisions, decisions.
I'm increasingly becoming convinced that Ryzaki was absolutely right - we need a DLC pack which enables us to throw characters out of the airlock.

"No, Shepard is NOT a fruit, but that doesn’t mean he/she can’t like
someone of the same-sex"
This is the point where it is derailed. Mass Effect is a third person narrative and works with a predefined hero, commander Shepard who we guide.
You mentioned other BioWare titles, all of them were first person narratives, where the character is alkmost entirely up to the player.
So, that's it. Shepard by nature is straight. Putting in a gay or lesbian romance would be misleading and out of place.

but to summerise. The storytelling in ME is no different from that in other Bioware games and Shepard is not predefined anymore than other Bioware characters before.
Shepard does not even have a sex till the player decides that Shepard is male or female.

Your claim is disproven by the fact that female Shepard can identify as straight, bi, or gay, while male Shepard cannot. If they're the same character, why is this?
If other Bioware games were MMOs or open ended games like Oblivion, you'd possibly have a point. As it is, Shepard is the Grey Warden with voice acting. Read the FAQ.

No he isn't. Grey Warden would OWN Shepard in a fight.
Especially a mage warden. Poor Sheploo wouldn't know what hit him.
Owned by a elven female that is barely 20+ years old. Nice going champ.

Pfft. You're kidding right? My mage would pull crushing prision on Sheploo before he could even blink. Then follow it up with a nice winter's grasp, lightening bolt, fire bolt, and if Sheploo managed to get free a nice paralysis spell followed by walking bomb. I'd like to see Sheploo survive that.
And if push comes to shove Forcefield + crushing prison would do a decent amount of damage for a quick getaway.

I think a new character or two could work out well, provided they're integrated properly into the narrative.

Right. You do that. Meanwhile, I'll be nice and safe, half a mile away, slowly lining up my Widow's crosshairs with your head. With Cloak on. BOOM!

No, but it would make sense if
something new were actually to be added. It wouldn't be adding new
romances anyway, just expanding the old ones.
Add new
crew where? There isn't any more space on the Normandy.

I don't see any new DLC characters added to the game. I interpreted the talk to concern expanding the existing romance paths with new options and new depth. Yeah, it was just throwing ideas around at this point, but considering that Bioware seems to want to keep the game fresh for the coming months with DLC, one that gave characters new depth wouldn't be a bad one. Lets take it as a hopeful sign for now.
Who said anything about any new crew? I was talking about expanding already existing romance subplots, and as far as I can tell that's what the news was about, as well.Add new
