Not really, I just inadvertently come off that way. A lot of intent is lost over typed words. It's a shortcoming of the internet, you could say. I like to debate and sometimes some people make that out as me trying to be antagonistic.

I feel sorry for all Femsheps in ME2. You can stick by an ME1 love interest who reacts to seeing you resurrected with all the enthusiasm of someone about to get a root canal. You can go for a girl who you get to know nothing about and who seems to consider dressing up as a stripper and shaking her ass in your quarters to be a romantic interlude. Or, should you prefer the hetero route, you're stuck with those three.

It's the most idiotic thing in the world. If you're proud because you're anti-gay, that's probably one of the most useless things you can be. Being gay is fine with me. Let them be. Jesus will not strike them down, the world will not burn and Mass Effect will be no less awesome than it is now.

In Mass Effect 3, if gay relationships are allowed, then I think it should be part of your personality profile. Like after you choose your class pick sexual oriantation. Like straight, gay, bi, tri whatever sexual. Because it would be awkward for straight shep to hit on garrus or whatever. That way BioWare can knock out the non-oriented dialogue options.

Anyway, I'm not going to flip if this doesn't happen. The story and characters are the most important to me. But if BioWare is fine with it and the fans want it, let them have it. I think BioWare will be able to handle it with kindness and maturity.

Not everyone is as skilled in the art of debating. 

And debate, especially when done for lets say academic reasons, can be very counter productive when done at the wrong time and the wrong place. Well, this is not a very innovative thing to say, but, you know, i've seen good movements going to hell and back because people love to debate over all sorts of stuff.

Anyway, a thread like this does have a certain purpose but the lines are very, very blurred as what helps this purpose and what not and also, noone is really forced to help the purpose, either.

Apart from that, having Collider around always keeps the discussions fresh and sharp, so all is shiny

If most posts are not obnoxious and immature, the larger the thread is, perhaps the larger the chance of getting same sex romances in ME3. I'm very sorry if some people take offense to what I say but I'm going to continue saying it. As I said, it's also increasing the thread.

I don't care what other people do in their own bedroom, it's none of my business how people get their jollies. I don't want to know about others sex lives and nor would I expect others would want to know mine. How is this even an appropriate discussion for the Mass Effect General Forum?

However, we have discussed the option of being able to choose at the start, or have a toggle option, or what have you, and it just seems like it would be...awkward.
If they are going to put relationships in, they shouldn't have to make it so that they can be turned off if someone is uncomfortable with it. People can just not do them.

I have always played games as a male main character (I'm female IRL)



And for me, as a personal thing, I like seeing two males together. Why does it always have to me male/woman? And some games that come out usually have female/female but in this society male/male is frowned upon.



In a game, you can completely bypass it. Don't even go down the conversation line. Stay away from it. No one is forcing anyone to even go there. I do understand why some people are uncomfortable with it, but I cannot see why if it is a choice in a game, it would affect "you" if "another" chooses to play a male/male or female/female relation.



Is it also human/alien? I think it is interesting though.

I think there's a very simple solution to the uncomfortable aspect that some people may have. Make romance dialogue blatantly obvious and/or color coded. In addition, squad mates of the same sex as Shepard should only flirt once Shepard himself/herself has shown obvious interest. Shepard does not need to be as blatant as the dialogue option appears on the conversation wheel, of course.

For me it's really hard to fathom why they would be uncomfortable because I agree with you. It doesn't affect me in any way. I'd recommend to Bioware however, to make same sex romances and flirting completely player initiated. That wasn't the case in several examples in Mass Effect and wasn't the case with Zevran in DA:O.

Then what is the purpose of this thread? Citing reason's or desires to see an aspect of the game that "you" or "others" ( to capitulate no signifigance to the terms you or others in direct relation to anyone in the thread or otherwise) would enjoy still falls under the intent of trying to persuade Bioware or even encourage them to make that leap.

Im only asking because I don't see how this thread has any relivance to the gameplay or storyline of ME as a series other then what the appropriated segment would enjoy.

Uh... yes. That's basically it. I won't speak for anyone but me, so the reason why i think such a thread is good is, because i think the game would be better if they'd include more options for romances. And it's nice to see that many others think so too. And a thread is much more interesting on the long run than writing a letter to BioWare because many people add many interesting thoughts over time.

So, the thread circles around improving characters and gameplay a lot. And there were some really good discussions about how characters are implemented in games and how this is different from novels and it's an asset of rpg's to offer options etc etc. It's quite a broad range of game related issues that are being discussed.

And there's the occasional troll (on both sides) who might learn something if (s)he is willing to communicate openly and listen to what others say. Its a win-win situation :innocent:

Haha thank you. Respectfully however, I don't see the choosing sexual orientation option as a toggle. To me, when you create a Shepard, you create his looks, powers and entire backround. You basically create what he is, and to me adding sexual orientation is part of who he is and therefore putting it in character creation seems just. It's not for people who don't like it to simply phase it out, it's more so that accidents like hitting the wrong conversation wheel option or getting the wrong idea from the dialogue summary doesn't mess up a character's flow. It would be like when a Femshep and Maleshep talk to Garrus. Both genders are able to listen to Garrus' reach and flexibility story (which is hilarious). But then female shep has another option on the right of the wheel to preform a seductive statement. I think that if your character is gay, then those options should be available. And if you're straight, they should be shadowed out. So that you gain a glimpse of what you can pursue. I think a bisexual option would be good here, because then Male/Female Shep gets all the options they want. (Because honestly, I accidentally wheel into the wrong dialogue choices all the time)

That doesn't help when I push on my joystick and pick the wrong option. Haha I'm clumsy. It seems easier to pick orientation to me. But honestly? I like it better when the dialogue isnt color coded romance-wise. It adds a sort of surprise and subtle romance when it's just white text. It's too flashy. I don't know how to explain it but I feel like it would kill the mood for me?

It wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't the only human LI! But *sighs* Ugh. I don't know who wrote that scene but it makes Jacob look horrible.
