You clearly aren't if you're taking the time to post here.
Simply don't post in topics you don't want to be a part of. The forums are as easy as that! Whoda thunk.

I don't support gay sex in ME. Ray Mazuka gave the perfect explanation. The character is a known commodity, he is all over the advertisements for the game, and shots of him engaging in homosexual behavior would largely cause the character to be seen as comical. i know that's not what the creators of this thread would like to hear, but that is the case nevertheless.

If the creators of the game are not gay, why would you gays want to force them to make gay scenes with the character they created?

You do realize that you already get shots of him engaged in homosexual activity all over YouTube? Ray Muzuka clearly failed to remember that "he" can already be a "she", as well as lesbian.

I think you're taking a bit of a liberty in how Muzuka was referring to Shepard. For advertising purposes, Commander Shepard is male. He is "default" vanderloo Shepard, aka, Sheploo.

...Asari are female right? Why isn't that in the FAQ I could have sworn you guys had made a blurb about it.

So the idea is that Mass Effect is "too mainstream" of a franchise to have gay content? I don't really agree. It's not as if adding gay content into the game will force the marketing team at gunpoint to plaster two men kissing all over the commercials and advertisements. They can still show default vanilla John Shepard. They've managed to hide FemShep completely, after all. <_<

You have to go through quite a few hoops to get male on top of male in ME1. I've seen modders do similar things in all types of games to put serious characters in a humorous light, however that is not even close to the amount of people that would come across that content had it been in the actual game. I'd wager a large portion of people would look at the homosexual dialogue option and choose it just for a pure laugh. Have friends over playing it and asking "what does THAT option do?". It wouldn't take long at all for the character of Shepard to become a running joke amongst fans and casual observers.Lightice_av wrote...

I also think there are too many people out there with all sorts of preferences and for them all to complain about not being catered to is a little ridiculous. The game is the way it is, and the game is great. You are not owed anything. No one is owed anything.
I'd like to add my personal confuzzlement to the fact that they go back and forth with it being "your" Shepard and that it's "their" Shepard that we have on loan, as it were. --Also that, if already given the choice between various LI's, including alien species that aren't even physically sexually compatible, how the hell do they get around to it making any sort of sense to restrict M/M content? (This is also including the above, if there's already F/F content...argument.)FlyinElk212 wrote...

The interesting part about this is that I agree with you, to an extent. I also think that Bioware has a certain image for the character, and that we should respect this image.
However, what I can't understand is why Bioware's stance on Shepard being homosexual is such a double standard. Why is it NOT okay for Male Shep to engage in homosexual behavior, when it's perfectly fine for Female Shep to do so?

I support this thread 100 percent. And excellent work, OP. You did a great job.
I don't think any of the creators are aliens or sexually attracted to aliens, and yet they seemed to be able to create those scenes just fine.SirWalliss wrote...

I don't really agree with female Shepard being gay either but if I had to guess, the reason for that would be that the role the player is playing in the game is a masculine one. It is far more believable that the main character be a female that is into women than it is for it to be a man into other men.FlyinElk212 wrote...
