Or you know...one might just find it fun?

I love "SPLOUSHUNS!" and a good story. I just prefer the latter to be literature. I play a game to PLAY a game not watch an interactive movie. ME2 offers the some good from both worlds.

The book argument. *sighs*

3:00-3:27.

OMG personal preference! OMGNOWAI!

Did you not read the bolded. And ME2 isn't my idea of a great book either. Then again I'm more of a fantasy girl when it comes to my books.

lol calm down ryuuichi. It's not worth it, they just vomit up the same nonsense over and over again

I kinda agree with you on this. A fem shep can have a romance with Kelly but a male shep has no same sex romance. One sided imo.

Before you start no I am not gay but I understand that that might be appealing to some gamers and I support their right to play the game how they feel it should be played.

I think it would be cool if there were more options in the same sex romance department but even in DA:O they only gave you 1 option for each if my memory serves correctly.

Still it would be nice if they opened this up more in ME3 or even in ME2 DLC

You can be mad , but you might also be disappointed when ME3 gets here.I think it goes by what the development team is going for. Many times bioware stated that they've seen same-sex more appropriate for Dragon Age than ME series.Maybe they just wanted a mostly straight video-game for ME 1/2 or maybe they announce an MMO ME that has the option.

If they don't think its appropriate for single player there's no way in hell it'll be appropriate for a MMO. :pinched:

I hate to keep pushing this statement out there , but this is what we call a double standard far or not.

Yeah I'm not sure why the concept is difficult for some people. Then again maybe it's a difference in experiences. I have a straight ex boyfriend so I'm pretty familiar with the "It's just you" thing.

On a side note. Maybe the story vs sploshuns (i wrote slopshuns first and that's something toooootally different) debate has gotten a bit off topic :innocent:

It's a slap in the face. I was so mad about this topic I returned my NEW copy of Mass Effect 2 to gamestop after I beat it. That's how pissed off it made me. And to add insult to injury shepard can romance a purple woman or a freaking lizard but he can't romance another human male? what the hell? It's just completely ludicrous and sad on the mass effect team. It truly is

I'm sorry, where exactly are you getting this from?  I've certainly not heard this "many times." The one and only time I've ever heard this was from Muzyka's nonsensical, question-dodging interview.

That does not really change my point, because he has (implied) sex with a male character but never even considerd that kind of thing before.
Now to go back to ME, if I recall correctly turning one of the four male LI in ME1+2 bisexual for ME3 (or even in ME2) would not produce that problem because the only time one of them (Kaidan) mentions ever having sex with a woman is after the climax of his romance in ME1.

I mean this is Bioware stating this , not me.They've come out and stated why no gay shepard , (which I'm assuming means only for Male Shepard). The thing with female shepard and kelly they might not see as lesbian.Again just my thoughts on it.

Now this is exactly what I'm against. Everyone is the galaxy shouldn't be straight but they shouldn't all be bi either. Being able to romance ANY character regardless of their sexual orientation would just ruin the idea of romance in Mass Effect for me.

I don't think anyone is advocating this.  But the situation as it is currently is that there are absolutely no gay men in this entire galaxy whatsoever.  Something's gotta give.

...NM. I don't have the patience to explain too damn early in the morning.

Uh. Wasn't Thane married? And Jacob had a relationship with Miranda before they broke up? And...I think Garrus slept with Turian females before. Even Kaidan admits to having feelings for that girl at his camp.

So how exactly is this avoided?  None of those men had (or at least that we know of) sexual relationships with those of their own gender. So it would STILL end up being a If It's You Its Okay situation.

Unless you want a new male NPC that has had a relationship with a Male character in the past?

Lost, the thing is... we know it's a double standard. In fact we're painfully aware of the double standard.
But double standards are bad. Don't defend double standards, question them.

Nobody ever said they were strippers.  They're frequently referred to as "dancers".  the world is full of clubs that have women in scant clothing dancing on platforms to titilate interested customers.  These women do not shed clothing, and thus, are not strippers, but simply dancers.

Sexy dancers.  (nods)

All wearing the same outfit and have the same degree of zero nudity? Really? Dancers don't have differing amounts of clevage and/or thigh showing? Really?

This is mostly though a comment on how unrealistic it is. I still laugh no matter what they're supposed to be. Its pathetic and sad to me. (Doesn't help that the dancing made me LOL too.)

Well now you're cutting into Bioware for recycling character models, but you have to be aware that variety in character models is a resource drain.  Different outfits, different degrees of nudity (if the dancers on Omega -wanted- to show nudity, or felt like it would benefit them) and different character models are extra resources that would have to take up disk space, sit in memory while all the other clutter on Omega is sitting in the background, waiting to pop into view at any moment....

They don't strip because they're not strippers.  They look the same because it's a game and Bioware had other priorities.

Like recording Femshep talimance dialogue they weren't going to use!  (Oh, burn!  Salt in the wounds, femsheps!)

But seriously, this is kinda off topic, so I digress.  ;p

Mostly though its the whole tittlation that bugs me. *shrugs* one of my "irritation levels rising" buttons. Plus the horrible dancing didn't help. Neither did the tipping. :pinched: I wanted to see some male dancers damnit!

Female drell and female turian not women, we dont know how those look or what exactly is sexually atractive about them for males of their species, so the fact that Garrus and Thane had sex with females of their own species gives us no reason to assume that they are only attracted to female humans, afterall straight men are not draw towards female apes.
If the past relationship between Jacob in Miranda is in game I must have missed it.

Jimmy Fury ,

I'm not defending the double standard , I'm stating it.Clearly if I was affected by this , I'd be enraged also.At the end I don't think there's going to be a clear answer of why this decision vs another decision. But it's a good discussion.

But they are female even if they aren't women. Though yeah I suppose since BioWare never showed us exactly what the females looked like <_<. I don't want Thane or Garrus though. One's a reptile and the other looks like a cross between a bird and diamond man from Ben 10. :pinched:I want a human! After Jacob's personal quest listen to what he says about Miranda after the meeting with the Illusive man. That should tell you.

Kaiden is more prone to being gay because he said he ''liked'' the girl in his biotics class, he never said he slept with her. If anyone has a high gay probability, it's Kaiden

blast! why did my brain wait until now to remind me of this..

The only character, anywhere in either game, who ever has the ability to expressly state that they are only interested in 1 sex is...

Fem. Shep.

This applies to the "changing tali will ruin the game" argument, this applies to the fact that characters have had relations with opposite sexed members of their own species, and this speaks volumes about m.Shep.
