And which I think those would be awesome dialogue options, in my opinion. I would love to see femShep pull a baseball bat on someone (I never play as maleShep... I don't like the voice actor that much). I think that it is quite possible that those would be logical reactions for some people. Other people would also flirt right back.

Now I'm not saying that I want every crew member to just be "Aww... Shep... gimme the secks!" But it would be realistic for say... Jack to make a pass (it's in her character, and she actually propositions maleShep), and I could see Garrus being cocky enough to do it too (though I personally really enjoyed the whole "popping the heat sink" convo options). Morinth for another example... I can see her hitting on femShep and maleShep alike (to more an extent than she actually did). Tali on the other hand, is the shy type of LI... whom Shep has to coax a relationship out of. I can see Samara being the kind of LI that would never say anything about her feelings... and even turns Shep down because of them (and if you want to romance her) you have to push even harder in ME3. I LOVE variation! So...

The point is that--yes! Shep is the commander of the Normandy, but many of these people are among the most deadly beings in the galaxy. They respect Shep, but at the same time... they wouldn't curtail who they are just because Shep is in charge. I can see a few of them (Kasumi for example) and perhaps the new squaddies for ME3 being willing to hit on Shep... and, just like any other dialogue option, Shep would have a response (probably three or four of them depending) and I could see one of those responses being a version of what you just wrote up. I can also see flirt-back responses and middle ground responses that could still lead to a potential romance later on.

The thing about the game is to offer realistic people and then give realistic responses that vary based upon the character that we are playing. I'm not asking for a dating sim, but I am suggesting that there be variations in how each LI approaches a relationship being started. It would be better than this whole... talk, choose LI, sex before death mission... nothing else happens. At least the LIs would have some more subtle (or not so subtle) variations to them.

I just heard the perfect quote

"Push the envelope and don't duck and cover when s*** hits the fan." BW did the first part but when the latter happened they backed off *sigh*.

Yeah I'd like s/s romances in ME3 but...I get the feeling that's not happening.

I also get the feeling their won't be any m/m in DA2 either due to the unexpected popularity of the first one. (or if there is s/s it'll only be f/f).

...I hope I'm wrong.

Good evening everyone :)

How are you all doing?

You know what I thought was cool? There's a thread someone started when they found the youtube vids of mShepxKaidan's romance from ME1. They apparently didn't know it existed. They were pretty stoked. Someone else came on and thought it was cool. I said they existed for fShepxAshley too, more complete versions as well. They were like :o B)

Sure, there have been a couple of comments that have been a bit bigoted, but on the whole, it's okay. And a couple of the people who are cool with it all haven't been over here. So, I guess we can take from that what we already knew - there are more people who would either like to see s/s content in ME3, or who don't really mind whether it's there or not, than post here or join our group.

I thought we could do with a happy thought :)

I saw that thread too. And for the record I thought the Male Shepard/Kaidan dialogue was pretty decent. It wasn't perfect, but it was certainly better than ANY of the romance dialogue in ME2.

I'd take MShep's cheesy. "serving under me." line over the priiiiize any day.

Man, I'm so never, ever playing that Jacob romance. *shudder*

I bet there's an interview with one of the devs somewhere where they say "the feedback we've had from fans shows they really love the Jacob romance". It's probably in the same interview that says "planet scanning has gone down really well. It's used as a source of fan humor, and many say they find it really calming".

I really want to know who wrote it. Seriously. :?

Who really thought the priiiize was going to go over well?

...I'm now curious as to how many people romanced Jacob.

I've completed four playthroughs, two females and two males, and I haven't romanced Jacob all the way yet. Simone Shepard was on track to romance him, but I switched to Garrus at the last minute because it was feeling too icky with Jacob. It was feeling like "Hi Jacob, I'm Simone, wanna shag now or shag later?"

LOL. Tis a shame though. He's good looking if only every time he didn't open his mouth I got the urge to hit him. <_<

Harsh. Harsh. Poor Jacob and his "the priiiize" getting no love.

Yeah FemShep is a little too strong coming on to him. It ends up cheapining the whole thing.

*sighs* Alas.

Wow. That sounds familiar. I guess Jacob really is ME2's answer to Kaidan...

My deranged renegade FShep loved flirting with Jacob... because she was looking forward to his pained expression when she threw him over for Thane. And he didn't disappoint - it was hilarious!

She found it even more hilarious getting them both killed on the Collector base...

If it weren't for that Heavy Pistol upgrade, I wonder how many people would even bother to do that!

I still don't see why we can't throw squad members out of the airlock. There are plenty of them, who is going to miss a few?

Ive not really played as FemShep in ME2 so I dont really know about the female romances as such. At least not directly.

But I found Jacob to be a bit off. He started off fine. But then he sort of jumps from kinda holding you at arms length to the whole "yo shep my man!" bromance type thingeythat he does that I found to be rather inexplicable and frankly innappropriate.

I liked him to start but once he did that I found I didnt like him anymore. And having read about/seen the Jacob/FemShep romance videos on YouTube I must say that I don't think he is any better with FemShep.

Yikes.

Wow, your response surprised me.  My previous post was more about situations and to what degree these situations are actually realistic.  I did not expect you to be receptive to such dialog.  With that said, that is fine.  You obviously would prefer much more realism in the game.  When you brought up realism, I decided to give real life examples of realistic scenarios in my response.  I think those examples would not be preferrable to a lot of players, but I may be wrong.

I prefer not to have LI's propositioning Shepard, and I don't think it is necessary simply because it may possibly be a more realistic experience.  Realism would also go further and involve something similar to the 2 examples that I gave in the previous post and to which you alluded to.  Honestly I don't see ME3 becoming as realistic as my examples that I gave.

This thread is about s/s romance.  I am willing to be open and accept possible s/s romance content in the game involving f/f and m/m.

The possible implementation of it however, is still up for debate AFAIAC.

First off... I'm with everyone else on the Jacob issue... didn't talk to him AT ALL in any playthroughs after my first one (he dies in them all). Dude just... creeps me out. And his eyes... they never make expressions like a normal human being. My money is on him being something like a terminator. >.> I'm watching you Jacob.

I'm fairly open to any and all suggestions, because I'm with you: I support s/s romances in ME and heck... all of Bioware's games; and you are right, the implementation is still up for debate. I think that there is a perfect medium that can be reached if people would just sit down and read all of these suggestions. Me? Yes, I like the realism, but there is a way that it could be implemented that would be realistic for the ME universe and still satisfy most people (cause lets face it... you can't make EVERYONE happy, but you can do a decent enough job that most of the fanbase will say: cheers!)

I was personally hoping for a better use of the trash compactor in Zaeed's room... come on! Can't you imagine the dialogue Jacob could have recorded as Shep was pushing the button?

I'm okay with Same Sex romance in the games. I am not, however, okay with turning pre-existing characters bisexual. It doesn't make sense for anyone on your ship to be(besides Samara and Kelly, but they don't count.) Now, if we get a new squadmate in the third game who's bisexual, I'm fine with that. I'm NOT fine with turning Tali, Garrus, or Kaidan bisexual in the third game.

I could see Shep whistling a jaunty little tune as s/he looked out the window at the debris, too.
