yay for heated discussion!
Show me where I said that most young people are homophobes.
Re read my post and don't jump to conclusions.
Why are you so aggressive? When you say that Younger people tend to be homophobes and will grow out of it ou ARE saying right that...
most 10-16 year old males will have a negative or neutral view on homosexuality. mostly: `YO NO HOMMO BRO, LOL YOU GAY BRO``. Only to make themselves look more masculine in front of their peers. As they mature, they will be less concenred of popularity and social image, and learn to accept homosexuality.
ha...tell that to my father...
(not trying to troll)
well typically, rednecks, hardcore religous folk, and hardcore 3rd world parents (mine do) will disapprove of homosexuality. It is up the the children themselves to make their own opinions.
As russell peters said: `Dad! we got a population crisis going on over there. We could use a couple of homos in India right now, you know what Im sayin?"

I think some people in this thread do not bother to take into account a person's upbringing as to that person's thoughts about homosexuality. There are also other factors as well, including but not limited to the community and surroundings that this invidual grew up with.
In other words, just because a person is against s/s romance in the game or homosexuality in general, does not make him/her a hateful person. It could also be ignorance, what values that his/her parents taught, peer pressure, age, etc... These values and experiences are learned and still with that person into adulthood.
Younger people also display less openess that will often times change as they grow older and become more mature and see things from a different perspecive.

I think I read that they didn't actually intend for Ashley's anti-alien attitude in ME1 to be as extreme as it came across, certainly it seemed to get dialed back somewhat in ME2. We'll have to wait and see in ME3 what her attitude is then, maybe we the player will get to help determine whether she remains distrustful of aliens or not. As someone who has played, and enjoyed a great deal, the Ashley-FemShep romance in both ME1 and ME2 via an ME1 mod, I definitely look forward to seeing how that all plays out!
Im 17 so i guess i fall into your young ppl category-- just wanted to say, well said friend.JohnnyDollar wrote...

Let my clarify it here.
This thread is about the possible inclusion of s/s romance in ME3. Obviously homosexuality is part of the discussion. There exists inflammatory rhetoric in this thread from both sides.
Obviously some people will be prejudice towards homosexualtiy
till the day they die.
IMO there are quite a few young people on these Bioware forums. Obviously the ages of the members is privileged information.
IMO some young people that have prejudice thoughts and feelings towards homosexuality are often times due to a degree of ignorance and influence from their surroundings (parents, demographics, religion, peers, etc.) .
IMO some of these young people will become more educated, become more mature, and learn to see things from a different perspective, and will not necessarily be under the same influence. They may display more objectivity, and they may be more accepting of homosexuality as a part of humanity that exists and is not evil, an abomination, crazy, or whatever.
As I said above, some individuals will be prejudice towards homosexualtiy regardless, until the day they die.
Regardless of age, you can't beat it into their heads with provocative rhetoric or by belittling them, it doesn't work. I understand that some members who are against homosexualtiy, come in here and do this. With that said, it accomplishes nothing to do the same in return.

I have noticed that many young people today are actually quite unfazed by homosexuality, that it is not nearly as controversial an issue as when I was young. Slowly humanity is evolving, but much too slowly in my opinion.

That's good, I didn't want you thinking that since you are 17 that I was putting you in a specific category. I tried to be somewhat vague intentionally in my post, but some people are taking my comments more specific than what they are, and they are also misinterpreting them.SP One Nineteen wrote...
No, no i was simply saying that i guess i consider myself one of the observant, educated, mature, uninfluenced young'ns (don't mean to brag or anything). Don't get me wrong, im straight, but as long as a person's sexuality doesn't mess with how i operate then i say, hey, go apes*** with your life.

I am not saying that you shouldn't present your arguments and discuss/debate by any means. Provocative rhetoric only provokes though IMO. If someone comes in here and puts a label on you and/or starts name calling because you are gay or support s/s romance, turning around and name calling and/or putting a label on them doesn't accomplish anything IMO.Em23 wrote...
I don't really agree with this last point (except the bit about belittling). We have logic on our side. It's tough to fight something illogical with logic but it's not impossible.JohnnyDollar wrote...

She said many not all. Keyword. Woop woop.
And is it because he's kissing a 40 year old man or because he's kissing a male period.
