Do I? I can see how I can come off that way, I suppose. It's a fair criticism, I can take it.
Might this be a case of 'the truth hurts' though? I'm saying things that a lot of people don't want to hear. It's so easy to just write people off as evil, stupid, backward, fill-in-the-blank. it is much harder to actually get to know people and influence them in a subtler way. It's a lot harder to see that underneath some of those awful attitudes, there are actual people who might not want to be the way they are but don't know any other way to be.
There are so many opportunities to depersonalize people who disagree with us and just react emotionally based on our understandable indignation at their attitudes. But there are few opportunities to actually reach out to someone and help them see a new and better way of looking at things. I've had a number of people tell me that I've helped them do exactly that. I didn't do it by shouting at them.

There is no 'truth hurts' as much as there is a "this is the way that worked for me and I assume because the other way didn't work for me it won't work for you either even if it has worked for other people" thing.
And FYI I tried the patient trying to get people to admit they might be wrong route. Didn't work for me. Does that mean somehow its uneffective because I didn't manage to use it to my advantage?
That said screaming at people has worked for me no matter how much you claim it doesn't.
Worked for several other groups as well.
*Granted said screaming usually disintergrates into a punch in the face, a nice brawl and some talking while licking our wounds*
There are so many opportunities to depersonalize people who disagree with us and just react emotionally based on our understandable indignation at their attitudes. But saying someone is beneath you by doing so is a bit much I'm afraid. Especially when you compare historically that the methods both have different ways of working.
And one of my best friends was made by us beating the s*** out of one another over a fight. The fist works just as well as words in some cases. Sometimes better.
Though we did talk while we were sitting in the principles office so maybe that was a case of both? All I know is we would have never talked in the first place without that fight.
Battlefield respect. Nothing like it.

When one takes the high road its a indirect implication (to me anyways) that you're better than someone else because they take the "low road" or uncivilized, inferior, less successful route.
Or maybe I just read to much into things. /shrug

Thanks for the somewhat disturbing mental image.
Anyways I just want either Kaidan or a new LI (I'm on the do not want Joker for a LI PERIOD) list again.

Well, I would appreciate it you would respond to what I actually say rather than to what you believe I am implying. If you think I'm implying something, just ask and I will provide clarification.
And to clarify, I do not think that 'high road' implies a superior/"beneath me" attitude, it is a widely accepted term that means to put aside the natural response to approach a confrontation emotionally and aggressively, and instead to resist that impulse and approach the problem calmly and reasonably. All parties are capable of doing this, it is not an inherent trait. I do not always take the high road myself. I've been rather acidic in my commentary on this very thread.

Like I said I'm might have been seeing things that weren't there. But between that and the whole remarks about alienating people and what not that's the interpretation you left me with.
And frankly to me what someone thinks you're implying is just as important as what you're saying during a discussion. At least that's what my proffessors told me in class.

Anyways: Do want a new male LI for ME3.
Though which would people prefer a human or alien? I'd prefer a human personally. The aliens in this game with the exception for the Asari (who are pretty much blue human women) they don't appeal to me at all.

And yes nug snuggling is cute. <3
Silk Fox however sounds like neither.
Silk Fox, Leliana, Liara, Juhani
Sky and Zevran.

Well my MShep is going to be falcon punching someone if Joker gives some ridculous ambievent dialogue and shuts down because Shep's not romancing him.
Joker: "What do you want commander? I'm working on something."
Me: ...

And here is where we run into the essential flaw in human communication. Whenever two people are having one conversation, there are in reality two conversation. One conversation is what we believe we are saying and believe the other is saying, the other conversation is what the other believes we are saying, and what they believe they are saying. Communication is imperfect, which is why it is usually best NOT to assume intent or motive when evaluating other people's communication, and respond primarily to what they are saying. This is especially true in a written communication format like these threads.
For example, earlier in this thread Sweets assumed I was ignoring her PM, when in fact I simply hadn't seen it yet. Instead of asking if I had seen it, she stated that I was ignoring it deliberately and doing so in order to make myself appear as though I was right, but this was a misunderstanding. I'm not trying to call her out or anything, but it's just a recent example of the phenomenon that we've all been guilty of it at one time or another. I know I have to actively try to prevent myself from jumping to conclusions about people's motives and focus primarily on what they are explicitly saying rather than what I think they might be implying. I don't always succeed myself.

Oh great now you've made me want to play Jade Empire again!
Nothing...except he's practically Shep's BFF/little adopted brother.
Aw yeah I felt bad for him. Such a kicked puppy look. (Even if he seemed more concerned about losing the Normandy than Shepard. <_<)
