I got dibs on the black kitten. :innocent:

Also: Awwww what an adorable pic. That's the best part of having two kittens watching them be all cute with one another.

Though...are we still pro Hendel for a M/M LI?

Hendel?

Hendel is a gay character from one of the ME books.

Do we get a Grendel as well? Hmm..that just reminds me of Beowulf...uh...Gretel.. there.

And I don't mind Hendel. He seems pretty good for a gay guy that's not all flamboyant. Not that there's anything wrong with the flamers...it'd just be nice to see something else for a change.

Hendel as only gay and not bisexual LI would be great, groundbreaking even because I dont think there ever was a just gay LI in a computergame.

For ME2 they should make Jacob (so that the poor guy gets some action) and Jack available for both. Those two have the strongest implications of beeing actual bisexual considering there conversations with Shepard.

There are same sex lines recorded for every romance aside from Jacob. Unless some one digs into the files and finds some.

Really? In ME2, I thought there were only for Thane and... Tali, I believe? Man I don't follow this thread during two weeks and I miss toggle-o-drama, fireworks, kittens, and new information (well, I didn't know what a BAMF is either).

Hendel is my favorite option for ME3. He's already part of the ME universe after all, even if only in the novels

Edit for clarification

I don´t see why a toggle to adjust the NPCs is so bad.

Even completely separated from the Same-Sex topic I´d actually like it - I mean, wouldn´t it great to have an option to make Jakob intersting, or Jack likeable?

I´d certainly want it, because they ****** me off the way they are.

Did you just refer to Jack as...unlikeable?

Very good original post! I think a bisexual download would solve this neatly. That way everyone could have the option to buy what they want and noone needs to be offended by things they don't like.

Remember that while we have the right to like non hetero love or be neutral against it (like me) we also have the right to NOT like it and express that opinion (preferably in a constructive way). A discussion to find a sollution that is agreeable to most players and Bioware is atleast worth a try. But as the skilled gamecreators no doubt already knows; you can never make everyone happy.

On a slightly related topic... Am I the only one who like idea of seducing both Garrus and Tali?

The problem with Hendel is that his inclusion in ME3 would 'merge' the storylines of the books and the games, something that I think Bioware and Drew Karpyshyn (the books' author) have been trying to strenuously avoid. Aside from the fact that (slight spoilers) he is very occupied at the end of ME: Ascension (and thus not about to go on a galaxy hopping adventure with Shepard), his being in the game would throw up all sorts of issues. I get the feeling that the whole reason Bioware has sanctioned the series of novels is so that storylines can be developed and explored that have little to no effect on Shepard's mission. They are peripheral plot-lines that add to, but don't interfere with, the games' narrative. Including a book character in ME3 would complicate this whole idea.

Ah, but remember that Miranda and Jacob were both initially introduced in ME: Galaxy, and they were successfully merged with the main franchise.
It's all a matter of balancing relevant exposition with further characterisation.

If I remember correctly, the Loghain book was written when DA:O was almost finished story-wise. They knew he would be in both, and there's references to each in the other. He was purposefully, if you like, designed to be in both.

Hendel is somewhat different. His first appearance was in a novel that was a prequel of ME2, and it's indicated by Ascension's ending that he is meant to disappear in terms of the storyline (for about 5 years or so). I don't know the thoughts of Bioware's story team, but it appears very likely that they had/have no intention of including main characters from the novels in the main games. There's a quote from the author about the new novel: "Basically, like the other ME books, this novel focuses on a story not directly involving Commander Shepard, but that still helps flesh out the ME universe while helping to set up elements that will be featured in the third game."

This is not to say Hendel couldn't be an ME3 squadmate. All I'm saying is that it would be unlikely.

Worst-comeback-ever.
But honestly, Tirigon, you're overreacting.
Both of our responses were in good fun; there was nothing involved to take as offensive.

Is it my fault there are no decent selfown pics? Do you actually expect me to get photoshop and make one myself? Way too much trouble.

But pictures as answer are ALWAYS offensive.

Very well, I'll refrain from sarcasm in italic in the future. It obviously doesn't carry through in text.
As for images in reply always being offensive...I beg to differ.

Point. Set. Match.

And please don't be obnoxious about people's appearance. It rubs off poorly on you.
It's Milla Jovovich by the way, in Luc Besson's The Fifth Element. And she's gorgeous.

Fair enough, but that still doesn't mean it's impossible, especially if we take into account what you yourself quoted. There's nothing there that says Hendel cannot be one of the set up elements that will be featured in the third game.

I actually like the characters the way they are (yes, even Jacob). Of course, there are some I like better than others, but that's natural. They all have distinct personalities and I wouldn't change them anymore than what the games already allows. The only thing that really annoys me is the way Femshep acts when talking to Jacob, which is just ridiculous...

I think that if we could just switch on and off some personality aspects of any given NPC, it will empty them of what makes them, well... them. Their personalities are pretty well defined, so I'd rather not touch it. They all have a role, an ecological niche in which they fit, if you will. Their sexual orientation however isn't as clearly defined, so we can still bring arguments as to why we think it possible for -insert squadmate's name- to be open for a s/s romance. Although I wouldn't hold my breath for any ME2 dlc... I prefer concentrating on having one s/s LI for both gender in ME3.
