Just a question. Once we have a solution to the lack of same sex romance, that everybody can live with, what then?
I mean, do we just sit around, happy that we can agree about something, and hope that BioWare reads our posts some day? Or is there some kind of master plan for it? Like, I don't know, seeking out the guys from BioWare and confront them with our solution? I'm asking, because I have read a few times already that we should "fight" for the same sex romance.

After we get same sex romances, we will take over the world. Until then though, our pink army will remain vigilante.

Even though im straight i do agree that there should be same sex romances in ME.. But bioware should do it for the right reasons and not just to satisfy the yaoi fangirl's.

Syledir, the solution to a lack of same sex romances is *having* same sex romances.

The point of this thread, really, is to just express our want for it and hope Bioware puts it in. We cannot really stop unless that happens.

Kind of like with the Tali and Garrus threads of old.

And I expect nothing less.B)

But, I mean honestly, we don't even know how BioWare will AT LEAST take notice us?

Uncanny valley? Are we discussing Samara's cleavage again?

Syledir, I do believe they have noticed. I mean, thread after thread pops up about this (whenever one gets locked), and are always a few hundred pages.

As well as groups about it, articles being written about it, and questions about it being asked in interviews.

I don't care if they would do it for the wrong reasons, as long as they do it. If they make f/f romance possible because "lesbians are hawd" and every 13 year old teenager wants to have it and they make m/m romance possible to "make the homos shut up", that's fine with me.
Because A they wouldn't tell us out of political correctness and we wouldn't know, maybe suspect, but not know. And B because everyone would be happy. Almost everyone, I know you can't make everyone happy.

On what basis do you make that assumption?

The only real problem I would have is if they added or removed options to existing characters that already have romances. As an example, making Liara heterosexual. I'd rather they just make new romances in future games that are bisexual or gay.

Not an assumption. Look at the Bioware tag underneath the thread's title.

Yes, but that is more like we take notice of ourselves, if that makes sense of you. Like we take comfort in the knowledge that we are not alone. Until now I haven't seen anything to make me believe that they even notice us. And isn't our goal to make the same sex romance happen instead of simply being noticed?

Same sex romances have happened already...there were thread pre-Dragon Age on the Bioware forums asking for them, and Dragon Age had them.

So? They let us write our thoughts and ideas in this thread. For all we know they can go on with their lives and not read this thread even once.

Make the same sex romance happen in Mass Effect then, because obviously Mass Effect didn't have it.

I wasn't aware that Liara, Morinth, Samara, and Kelly didn't exist.

Why are you being so difficult? I know what I'm talking about. The Bioware tag REQUIRES someone from Bioware to POST in the thread. I've seen Bioware people post in other same sex threads too.

I am not going into the argument about are Asari female or not. But here goes...
Liara was not a romanceable NPC in Mass Effect2
Morinth kills you with mating
Samara refuses because BioWare... I mean she has made the decision.
Kelly... You count that as a romance?

The Bioware post in question was:

Stanley Woo wrote...

No, nothing said on the forums will force BioWare to do anything. It does, however, give us an idea of what some of our players would like to see in a future product. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with discussing people's wishlists for future products.

I believe that supporters are also asking for additions to the romance options available, and not replacements. As in, "in addition to the romance we've already seen in Mass Effect, we'd like to have the option of same sex romances for our Shepard." If this is the case, it's a valid request, so let's please keep this thread as civil and mature as we can. Thank you all for your participation over the last 142 pages. I'll let it keep going as long as there's something to discuss and as long as people can stay mature about it.

So, in effect, Bioware has noticed the fan push for s/s romances, but they're not commenting on if this will have any effect on their game design. Stanley seems more inclined to support future s/s romance additions and not s/s content for existing romance options - or at least he sees this option as more feasible/likely.

Edit: I didn't see the poster before me's request for the Bioware post. This was incredibly good timing.

Nah someone would have to read the thread to close it due to off topicness, spoilerz and bickering. You can't exactly get that without reading the thread. Not to mention Woo's post makes it clear he's at least read the OP. So they might not take it inot any considertation but they have at least read some of the thread. Which is I for one hoped for.

Though at least DA2 is pretty likely to have s/s romance options.

If people don't keep trying to force BW to continue the Warden's story that is.

Granted they kind of wrote themselves in a whole with the forced sequel hook on dangling plotlines. <_<
