But, I mean honestly, we don't even know how BioWare will AT LEAST take notice us?

EA or Bioware would have a market research department and they would look at heaps of stuff, including these forums, to come up with data on what would sell.

These forums will never change anything on their own, but they are part of a bigger picture. Probably a very small part but who knows.

Personally, I thought it was terrible Bioware hasn't put same-sex romances in the Mass Effect games yet. Liara doesn't count because Asari are asexual. We need more Zevrans and Lelianas!

I'm not hung up on this idea or anything, that's just how it seems to me. Feel free to point out how i'm wrong and i'll happily change my mind. I really don't see a fight developing over this.

Yes...what truth lies partially hidden beneath those oppressive strips of fabric?

It's an enigmatic riddle. A puzzle wrapped up in a conundrum. A chinese box full of jubblies.

But you know, this is actually on-topic. Because it proves yet again there is no reasonable doubt as to what sex asari are.
I mean, honestly. I feel it's rather patronising of BioWare to imply that they have no discernable features usually attributed to females when they shove Samara at us.
Not that I complain, but the point stands strong.

Interesting point. I suppose having 'blue female-y' aliens allows them to exaggerate certain features while claiming that it's perfectly natural asari physiology. Hence, uncanny boob valley.

And yes, they do certainly shove her.

Me.

I like her anyways. Actually more so than the other female LIs.

1) only females ----> talk about "hawd lesbians" (not that I´d disagree though....:wub:B))

2) Don´t really count ---> most are asari, and Kelly doesn´t even count as LI. Morinth kills you, and Samara turns you down....

As a straight male, I don't particularly want to see s/s romance scenes in my game, but I'm perfectly fine for the option to be there for those who want it. I just want it made clear when being friendly crosses over to the "romance" subplot.

As long as it's done right, I have no problem, and actually support the idea. By "done right" I mean, don't make any current character turn bi- or ******-sexual. Make two new romance options (one male, one female) that are homosexual, and at least one who is bi-sexual, to give the choice between at least two same-sex options. I honestly don't want more options than that, simply because the squad from ME1 and ME2 going into ME3 is already huge if they bring everyone back (which is doubtful, but they should bring alot of 'em back), and I don't want past characters being given less attention to because of new crew members.

But that's just my opinion. On that note, *tips hat* I bid adieu.

I'm still kind of new to Mass Effect but to be honest I was kinda disappointed that there are no same sex romances.

I just want to say I completely support this thread and nice work putting this altogether!

I don't really understand the whole "Don't make any of the current characters homosexual"-thing. I mean, the dialogue is still there.

The homosexuality is still in ME2, it's just that there's no sex. So, by that logic, overall sexual tension is nice, but if there was sex, it'd suddenly become unrealistic or ruin the immersion?

As far as I'm aware, there's no recorded dialogue for a homosexual relationship in ME2.  But in any case, the characters as they've developed so far in the two games have been established as heterosexual.  I don't want to see the characters change, for the sake of a same-sex relationship.  New characters, sure!  I have absolutely no problem with that, but the current character's shouldn't change who they are for the sake of this. (And I would say the same if it was a homosexual character people wanted to romance heterosexually.)  This is actually why I find the Garrus and Tali romances akward.  I like Tali's romance, I liked her in the first game, and so I did romance her in one playthru, and I guess it could be put down to simple character development, the relationship between old friends evolving into something more.  But for a character to express homosexual leanings when there was no indication of such in either the first or second game, just doesn't make sense to me.

*shrug*  In my mind, it just doesn't fit any of the characters, so it would break immersion for me if they changed the current squaddies to allow for a s/s relationship.

Well..... Jack says she already HAD lesbian relationships in her past, and Thane, Garrus and Tali aren´t even human.
I doubt the gender of a human matters to them - they can´t reproduce anyways, and aren´t "compatible". Besides, all of them like Shepard because of his / her character, not because they think he / she is hot. I actually think it´s rather ridiculous they act differently depending on your gender.

That doesn't make much sense Tirigon. MShep and FShep have different body shapes - just as the aliens have different body shapes between their genders. A lesbian woman can like Liara but that doesn't mean she is going to like Liara in that way if Liara was male.

I admit I'd forgotten about Jack talking about that, but to be honest, the rest of your statement doesn't make sense to me.  As a heterosexual human male, Thane and Garrus hold absolutely no sexual attraction for me, because, well, they're male.  I'd guess that they'd feel the way about me, were I actually Shepard.

So, yeah, I guess I can see Jack being an option for a lesbian romance in ME3, considering what she said about her past, it fits with her character, but no-one else, to my knowledge, even hints at such an inclination in either ME1 or ME2 (except Liara, and we all know about that), so it'd be a major switch for them to develop homosexual leanings.  That's why I think having new LI options for ME3 would be the best option if Bioware introduces same sex romances into the MEverse.

As I remember, Garrus is only emotionally attracted to female character, not physically. Don't see any reason why he couldn't do the same with male.
And with Thane, he's reptile. Female of his species propably looks by our standards more manly than he is, so it would make much more sense if he was attracted to human male.

Tali's flirting with female Shepard, but because of cutted romance dialogue it leads to nowhere.

There's still discussion about that? Bioware's intentions are clear:

I usually prefer to answer myself, but this says it everything.

Besides, do we even know Garrus is male? I mean, it´s told, but would you know by looking at him? I for sure wouldn´t.

I think Samara is good the way she is in ME2 (other than her outfit) ... well, maybe they could have spend more time building up the tension between the two characters only to have her ultimately turn Shepard down anyway.
