At first I was against same sex romances. Then, after reading all the comments I seen how shallow I was being. America is supposed to be the land of the free and the home of the brave. So is Canada, I think. So how come same sex romances aren't allowed? People have a right to choose who they want to be with and it shouldn't be up to someone else to decide another persons love life. The same goes with video games. America/Canada don't be shallow. Be open-minded.

great words my friend. =)

It's the future, with genetic enhancements all over the place. And we all know where those things would be applied first.

Let's face it, Jacob is just a sorry victim of one of them e-mail ads.

Guys, the pictures are funny, but there's way too many of them in one go with very little discussion happening. Remember, Woo could poke his head in at any time and look for reasons to lock us down; having a "boob staring" picture war is probably not the best way to avoid that....

Okay, back on topic.

I am curious about something, for the people who are against preexisting characters being made open to both sexes due to prior romances and so forth.

How would you feel about Kasumi being open to both sexes in ME3, for example? Since she is not an LI currently, but has had a previous relationship.

I'm honestly not sure why BioWare hasn't gone the whole nine yards with it. I mean, a female character can get a lap dance from Kelly Chambers and have sex with Liara, but a male Shepard can't flirt with Kaidan? As a lesbian, I'm kind of curious as to why gay men haven't gotten the same treatment...

-shrug- Lesbianism just seems to be far more accepted in media, supporting the double standard that its gross for two men to be involved but glamorous and sexy for two women to be. Plus its now evidently 'edgy' for women to be bisexual (or pretend to be, Katy Perry) and titillating for straight men aswell.

Ah well.

Heres a song about tolerance and understanding!

That is so because most hetero- or bisexual men find lesbian sex erotic, while significantly less women find gay sex erotic.

Edit: Imo this song is no good advocate for tolerance and understanding because it´s one of the worst songs I´ve ever heard. No offense.

True, but it doesn't make it any less of a double standard. Though I know a fair amount of girls who are more into gay porn than I am.

As for the song, its not only amazing, but the most serious song ever written.

I would be fine with Kasumi being a same-sex LI, or Zaeed for that matter. To my knowledge, Zaeed hasn't mentioned being involved romantically with anyone, so he could easily be gay or bisexual. I also think Kaidan, Ashley, Miranda and Jack could be revealed to be bisexual without a serious discontinuity. It would take a little bit of explaining, but certainly no more than Garrus and Tali suddenly wanted to jump Opposite-Sex-Shepard's bones.

Having 6 squadmembers suddenly realize that they are sexually interested in both genders, strikes me as quite odd in the story.

On a side note:  (not specifically you Sian)
I understand that people can change in the story concerning their sexuality.  To use this line of reasoning is understandable to me.

But, to further use that argument to say that all, or nearly all of the LI's could change is a stretch to me.  It makes me think that whoever uses this reasoning(people can change their sexuality), therefore nearly everyone will change, doesn't seem to care for the story.  That they are only using that reasoning to further bolster their case.  Therefore making the argument sound hollow to me.

Heck all those people being attracted to Shep no matter their gender is already pushing it.

I think the point, as far as I was concerned, is that they could all be not that they should all be.

Ah, ok, I misunderstood then.  I thought she was saying that all of these could and should.

Though I  believe I  have seen people make statements here in this thread that "people can change", and then say  "Make all of them bi".
