So back to topic, Jack may or may not be bi, but the point is, we wish she was ;)

I hope that they'll know what's best and stick to prequels and midquels after the trilogy is complete.

I'm hoping the exact opposite myself. The ME universe is huuuuge and there is plenty of room to continue telling its stories without Shepard. Shep is just one person afterall.
There's room for simultaneous stories and plenty of new ground to be uncovered.
For example, The first time I looked out at Illium I immediately imagine the potential for an entire series to be based just in that one city.
Shepard's story is epic. But the universe doesn't have to be locked into epic stories. I could see an action-noir story being explored on Omega. A "race to prevent war" story unfolding based on certain events that might be spoilers so will go unnamed.
Conversely, new threats could pop up and start new epic tales. If the reapers are machines, then someone had to build them ;). If they want to destroy all organic life, surely they would need a way to travel to galaxies other than just the milky way... There are just sooooooo many possibilities.

More importantly (aka back on topic lol) , given Muzyka's statement about "future narratives" I want something that has a new protag. One that could be built with open sexuality from day 1 thus ending all of this debate. I still want inclusion in ME itself, but I think that inclusion could act as a stepping stone to show Bioware that it wouldn't hurt the game and that the genre is a good place for it.

I felt just a little bit let down that she wasn't available for fem shep, even if she turned out not to be my type. Just because I remember there being a lot of rumors that she would be available for both.

Like with Tali alot of what my fem!Shep could say to her sounded like it was intended that way, but it was cut like so many other gay romances.

And what can I say, I like tattoos. Haha.

I felt the same about Thane. I found out a few days before game release from the SA thread that pretty much detailed the entire game out that there was no m/m romance options. After it had been hyped up for so long. For a while I even considered canceling my preorder of the collectors edition. :c

"you must have friends" - Shepard asks about friends and Jack says there was this girl Manara. Could be she saw Manara as a friend. Later when she says they helped her into their bed, it sounds as if she felt used.

More over the fact that they were going to screw her over than being part of a threesome, by my interpretation.

I think both ... does not mean anything about her sexuality, but thats the point.

Oh, I'm not saying that Shep should star any of the games after the trilogy. Just that s/he's made a lot of changes that affect the entire galactic civilization, and is likely to make more with even greater effects. If you make a game outside the trilogy set after it, you'll have to decide which of these decisions were "canon". Was the Council saved? Do the Rachni live? Does Wrex rule over Tuchanka? These are fairly far-reaching issues that are hard to skip over in chronological sequels, and I suspect that even more major decisions are coming.

I don't think she ever was considered an option, even though that threesome comment was quite misleading. Tali on the other hand was written and partially completed. It would only take a few more lines and some editing to pack up a DLC of her. The same goes for Thane. I still find romance DLC an incredibly unlikely idea, but if it has any hope of happening, it's from the plot-threads that were already written.

I don't understand why you guys simply don't form a group to discuss such a heated topic. You'd be able to moderate the group forum yourselves, as well as be free of any spammers that join the site just to do so.

Unfortunately a group (which we do have ;)) lacks the potential for civil debate. It's all a bit... one sided in there lol.

True an open forum has more potential for trolling and heated convos, but one of our goals is to make this a topic for open discussion between everyone. Particularly those who have an argument against the idea. Without their input, we can't add any new perspective or formulate our request in a way that satisfies a larger portion of the fanbase.

Who knows, maybe it's futile, but we still want to get Biowares attention on the topic and show them that it could be done and that the fans would support them.

They could just do what Star Wars games do. Bioware is even familiar with it from KOTOR. Light Side or in Mass Effects case Paragon is always cannon. Granted by having the Renegade option in 2 being the default they kind of already went against it. However Is not too late to fix such things.

Still, I think the best way would be to implement a choice at the beginning of the game while costumizing your character, so no one can complaim "Oh, I just turned gay/ lesbian/ bi by accident."

"This thread is a blight on galactic purity. You sir! You are a blight! And you! And you, human. And you!
"And so the posters dwelled in filth, on worlds made of dirt and feces, and there they lay until they stumbled into forums."

Commander Shepard leaves this thread burning alive and nukes it from orbit, it is the only way to be sure.

I dont think thats good idea.
They should just make sure we know what is our character going to say (the NPC may not necessarily understand it the way we want, but thats another story). Maybe BioWare should add one extra word to each choice, something like the Elcor speech. Alpha Protocol uses only that.

I see just a little bit of a conflict with how Bioware could implement same-sex romance in Mass Effect, and the conflict lies in the conversation wheel. Paragon being top right and renegade being bottom right. Where would the dialogue option for same-sex romance be located? Top right implies it's nice or "right" to do so, and bottom right implies it's risky or "wrong". Placing it up or down implies a lot and can potentially bring the game a lot of negative attention from both sides.

'

However, Liara and/or Kelly both have flirty options on the top right, so this entire "controversial" angle of mine falls apart. Well it was good mental exercise.

Proof that ANY relationships = death!

Even so, it beats dying at the hands of the Reapers. It beats most things actually.

I dunno, I think colored text for responses that will lead to romance is the best solution. And maybe not practically forcing characters on the player like with Ashley and Jacob.

But then, Liara clearly isn't a woman and Femshep... um... only hugs and holds Kelly. On her bed.

So obviously nothing sapphic going on there whatsoever anyway. Image IPB

Time-tested formula.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines perfected the system.

Oh god yeah.

It feels so wrong to me not to be able to say "Nothing personal Jacob, but I'm just not into guys" It's maddening...

Of course! Watching a girl strip tease, having her sit on your lap, and then cuddling her while she smiles peacefully...that is just so totally heterosexual.

As is having sex with something that has breasts, looks and sounds like a woman. Totally, totally straight.

Besides we've already covered the Asari, the creators insist they're female and they seemingly reproduce via parthenogensis like all-female species of lizards.

Agreed. At least he isn't as bad as Kaidan was. When he did that hurt 'you've led me on' thing I wanted to punch him.
