I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds Jacob's body oddly proportioned. I think u should mention this ship on the fight for the love boards.

I know Liara is something for us f/f females but lol...she's so cooooooooooold it's barely different from whether you romanced her in ME1...and Kelly is just...a free ho.

I like Kelly, she's pretty cool. Its true she does seem to 'love everybody' but so long as that includes FemShep (and it does) Im happy :) . I actually find Liara still pretty cool and interesting, I like the extra depth, although of course I agree she shouldn't be so cold. Im hopeful that is only temporary, and she will be much warmer in ME3 (or possibly even sooner, in a DLC/expansion, preferrably one that also includes a Tali/FemShep romance activation :) ) .

Posted Image I had a different video in mind. That one had an undead skeleton and a Darkspawn from Dragon Age making love to each other.

I quite liked that Liara wasn't exactly as she was in the first game. She was likeable enough, and far from uninteresting character, but it was also pretty clear that she was designed from ground up to be a turn-on magnet, what I believe some anime fans would call a "moe-blob". A damsel in distress, shy and awkward, nice to a fault, always there for Shepard...In other words, extremely predictable in every way.
Her new personality gives her some edge, entirely new strengths and flaws that you would have never predicted from ME1's obvious love-interest number one, but doesn't take away her original charm either, as you can tell from your final conversation with her. I give kudos to Bioware for her, as they were willing to put plot and character development over fanboy expectations. Yes, I too would have wished more interaction with her, and more variation to it depending whether you romanced her in ME1, but her development itself doesn't bother me.
Lets hope that her DLC does indeed exist, and will contain something relevant to most or all (positive) participants of this thread.

That's really good. :o

Makes one wonder why the lipsynching during her song of elven mourning sucks so badly. :bandit:

And the end bit was scary. :?

I won't offer any spoilers here, but when you meet with her after doing her "tasks" there's a very easy to miss dialog option that really prompts her to open up about her past actions and emotional state. I believe you can't actually backtrack to it during the conversation, so if you're like me and play solid paragon (including hitting all the "upper left" options first), you'll likely miss it. The cue is "coffee cup."

Yes! That must be it!

I agree with you Lightice_av - I always appreciate it when writers make their characters grow and change in response to circumstance, rather than being static from creation onward. My Colonist/Ruthless Shepard, who is socially kind of bullyish (Renegade options) feels an increased sense of kinship with Liara now. Just as the Batarian raid on Mindoir taught him that "you've gotta be tough to survive", Liara has hit a similar point. In the imagined long dark nights where that Shepard wonders if things could have ever been different for himself, he wonders the same for Liara. This character growth also demonstrates that BioWare can develop new facets of existing characters pretty effectively, and puts the lie to arguments that other character developments (such as expressed bisexuality or other traits) need not occur as incongruous "glued-on" character traits.

I see that there's another thread currently active that proposes one of the ideas mentioned in our FAQ. While it's a duplicate thread and thus unnecessary, I'm intrigued that a lot of people posting there are new names we haven't seen in this discussion here. For anyone who felt moved to say something in that thread, please don't feel intimidated by the page count here! Read the Fight for the Love FAQ we developed as posts 1-3 in this thread for our starting ideas, and I'd love to see your perspectives on any of those suggestions or themes, or your own ideas! This thread is not just an advocacy thread, but we hope a place to explore options for inclusion of same-sex romances in Mass Effect. Please do join in. We try to keep it civil in here, and discuss without the flaming insults, too - makes it easier to talk things through.

Yeah, that thread is pretty scary. Ok, so I have a few screenshots of Kaidan and Shepard, but I think I'll put them up in the group instead of here. No need to lure trolls

Edit:  They're up!

No doubt! I see some new names trying to be thoughtful and productive over there in between the off-topic trolling. It could be nice to hear their ideas in a thread that doesn't devolve into mudslinging unrelated to Mass Effect. Broaden the consensus, fresh perspectives and all that.

I personally love Liara and would stick with her even if their were other f/f options.  I do sympathize with those that wanted another f/f option for ME2 (I would've tried it out if there was one but alas, there wasn't).

I don't even count Kelly as a romance option.

Inspired by the "A good solution to the homosexuality issue!" thread, I had this thought... and since I'm not going to read through more than 80 pages I'm going to assume that it hasn't been brought up...

When you "create" your Shepard, you're given a number of options regarding his background: where he grew up, and his defining military achievement.

Why not also have an option to choose your Shepard's sexuality? Heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual or asexual, basically, and all options would provide some unique dialog when talking to your squad mates... as well as other NPCs.

It has been brought up. Read the first three posts (which comprise a FAQ).  No one really expects you to read all 80 pages if you're just hopping in, but the FAQ is very comprehensive and enlightening, and it offers a large number of ways to implement this that leave everyone as winners.

It's not an optimal solution, but it's a viable one.  Personally, my favorite way to initiate it (and any other romances) is to have the "romance starters" displayed in a different color like the paragon/renegade responses.
