2% yes but they continue on from game to game unlike Zaeed, correct?

How do you know that Zaeed doesn't continue in some shape or form? You hear radio news about Uvenk the batarian terrorist in ME2 if you played BDtS, so it wasn't entirely ignored, either.

Idk about that. Are you saying Garrus' personality changes in ME2 based on how you treated him in ME1? *trying to hide naivette*

It actually does. He acknowledges your decisions and comments if your actions are out of character based on your decisions in the first game.

NowI'm confused. So if I import my ME1 Paragon to ME2 and say something Renegade to Garrus he will comment on that being out of character?

During his recruit mission I said "I was tired of sneaking around anyway, time to spill a little merc blood" and Garrus says "I see you havent changed", does he say something different there if you were a negotiator in ME1?

I actually edited that quote, because it didn't really apply to what I thought you were saying, but yeah, he does. If you were a paragon, and you act renegade, he comments on it.

Maybe as a sound byte, but they're not gunna put anything in ME3 that has anything essential to do with the Eviscerator or the Hammerhead. And if they did that'd be lame for those people who don't get DLC.

So instead of "I see you haven't changed"he says  "I see you've changed" lol

I find this strange...I decided to say  I was tired of sneaking around too and he said "Glad to see you haven't changed." I have always suspected that perhaps he was influenced by the things you tell him, such as, if you encourage him when he says things like "It's great to be above the law as a spectre" with "Yeah, we'll beat Saren at his own game" I have never tried to discourage his recklessness, despite being mostly paragon in ME1, his enthusiasm was contagious.

Truth be told I felt kinda responsible for how he ended up in ME2. Actually, I felt directly responsible for getting him into that mess in the first place. I really wish I could have talked to him about him, you know, instead of having to sit through his talk of the reach and the flexibility ad nauseum...<_<

Well, to be fair, that stuff isn't in the running for essential story stuff - it's a car and a shotgun. Zaeed could. And if they do that rumored Redemption tie-in DLC, which they've pretty much confirmed, I'm certain that it will tie into the story too.

As I said, if you bought the game new, you have access to the DLC for free. If you don't use it, you're silly (or you don't have an internet connection, which is so unlikely that I couldn't blame them for not planning on it).  I can't really blame them for incentivizing (if that's a word) new purchases, either.

I've played through 2 imports where on my canon I did like you said "encouraging" him with his CSec rants, and on my other character I hit all the Paragon "disapproving" options, and in ME2 he was the exact same character with both imports.

But just about everybody gets it; it's free, after all. Obviously nothing essential based on a DLC can be forced into ME3, but I repeat that we're talking about a fairly minor side plot that you can ignore entirely without slightest effect on the main plot.

Could it be that people don't have money to waste? I rarely get DLC cuz I know it's just "extra" nonessential content for those that love that game so much they wanna pay more money for a little more gameplay. Yes Zaeed "could" be in ME3 but he would only have as big a role as he did in ME2, and to be honest, besides his loyalty mission he isn't an essential character, he was hired to work for the mission, so when the mission's done, he's done (unless Bioware reimplements him in ME3 the exact same way as ME2, which would be awesome).

If you're talking about them reimplementing Tali and Thane as bisexual then that would HAVE to be something that was carried on into ME3. If that's the case, I don't want the DLC reimplemented, I want them to just make them bisexual in ME3 and not dance around the issue with silly DLC.

But if you bought the game new then you got access to the Cerberus network in the box.  That's my point.  That's how this stuff is distributed.  You won't pay anymore money.  If you bought it used, yeah, Cerberus costs $15...but that's a flat rate for all the DLC they release.  After a few big releases, it will pay for itself, so it's still a good deal.

But if you bought the game new, then you already paid for all the DLC.

Yeah, he ends up in the same place, but so what? In Mass Effect Shepard ends up in the same place too, saving the galaxy from the Reapers. What matters is the road to get there, and he acknowledges that road in Mass Effect 2.

My point is, these characters are less set than people think, and it all relates to Shepard. Their reactions to him or her change depending on your interractions with them, and thus they change. Adding in additional romances wouldn't change them, just their interractions with Shepard, which would then change them. Let me put it this way, if Shepard wasn't there these characters would have a "canon," but he/she changes that.

Gotta be online...there's always a catch. But I do like the idea that Cerberus Network is designed to give us essential DLC that couldn't be put in the game on launch day because of time or w/e, it really is a brilliant idea.

What they are doing right now is dancing around the issue; a DLC would be confronting the issue directly. Plus, a DLC would be opinional and only change the game in Mass Effect 3 for those who get it.

Yes, Garrus says something different if you say something Renegade as opposed to if you say something Paragon, but nothing in ME2 makes me think "the road" I went on with Garrus changes his personality, he's still has a cold demeanor and talks to me the same whether I was Paragon or Renegade.  Just like if I go full Renegade when talking to my squaddies in ME2 they aren't going to change their personality in ME3 because I was inconsiderate of their emotional pain.

And opening up some characters to a same sex romance in an optional DLC won't change them either unless you want it. It's an opinion is a game where the ability to choose from a host of opinions is one of the selling points.

I just don't think it's gunna happen. The only way they do anything about same sex romance in ME is if you do it like the Tali Love thread from the original site. Get 300 Spartans to storm Biowares gates or you get nothing ;)

Nuts. I am epic fail. (Hangs head in shame.)

I just switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox and now I can't work out how to do anything I want to do!

Would one of the groovy Serving Under Me group like to post the .gif and a group link at social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/105/index/1257202/1 - a stickied thread for collecting banner, thread and group info in one place, pretty please? I'm clearly far too useless for the task. :(

Whether or not it will happen is something left up to BioWare. And it isn't going to stop people from wanting and talking about it.
