I find Gandalf's contrived points hilarious.
Any moron that fumbled his way across the game while drolling would still figure this out, but I'll put it in crayon, just for you, little gandalf.
Gandalf-the-Fabulous wrote...
How the hell would Heavy Rain
even be considered for GOTY. Seriously the game is rubbish, for a game
where the major focus is the story I was expecting something special
but instead I get this cliched garbage, also who the hell thought it
would be a great idea to have a lot of the game focus on doing
quick time events to perform mundane and boring everyday tasks, making
sure the characters son does his homework and goes to bed on time,
changing babies napies and tying your bosses tie isnt my idea of fun
or entertainment.

Sure the graphics are decent, but considering there is no pesky gameplay to get in the way I expected much MUCH better.
By far some of the best graphics (bar a few) the PS3 has to offer, but continue, troll.

are no explantions to explain the pieces of evidence that suggest that
Ethan is the killer (seriously if Ethan isnt the killer then why the
hell does he have blackouts and wake up with an origami figure in his
hand?) and there are no peices of evidence to point out that Shelby
is actually the killer until we actually find out that Shelby is the
killer.
Obviously you are a child and have never heard of a red herring.
Seriously why is Shelby putting in so much work to
"investigate" the Origami killer when he knows that he himself is the
Origami killer? It makes no sense at all.
He's doing it to get rid of the ****ing evidence left behind, you moron. Being a PI is the perfect ****ing cover
Heavy Rain is garbage, I dont know why anyone would even consider this for GOTY.
Trollin trollin trollin
I
am not going to sit through that piece of garbage again
Yet you sat through/read that horrible book/movie series that's the most overly cliche thing on the face of this earth
Until Scott is revealed as the origami killer we
have no idea that Scott was adopted, that he had a brother who drowned
or even that he has a fondness for origami.
Yes, they should tell you who the ****ing killer is right off the bat.
Good job, einstein.
He says he can't breath while it's raining (duh)
He says he's been hired by the families of the victims yet 3 of the parents don't know who he is.
He gets exacerbated when Lauren cross references the lists.
Those are only a FEW.
Also, FBI profiles aren't an exact science.
First
off we know that the killer probably drives a 1983 Chevy Malibu, here
is a picture for those who dont know what they look like.

http://upload.wikime...ChevyMalibu.jpg

Now
that doesnt look like Scotts car now does it? Hell I cant remember
Scott ever going near a car that looked like that,
LMAO. He got the car from Paco, Paco got it from mad jack. Lemme guess, you've never heard of stolen ****ing cars? Or is that unheard of in your LOTR fantasy land?
but I do remember
seeing one that looks like it in the game, damn who was it again? Oh
yeah wasnt it ETHAN MARS.
Ethan's car looks nothing like a malibu, at all
red
herring.
Holy ****, he does know that word, however he's too stupid to use it in context so he fails.
Ok we know the Killer leaves an orchid on the victims
chest, this piece of evidence doesnt come into play until later in the
game and even then it in no way points to old Scotty boy.
It was his mother's favorite flower, are you daft?

^^^^ Are you a troll or just stupid? Not once in that entire post did you post anything that even resembles a coherent or intelligent argument. I find no reason to reply to your post other than to tell you that the only thing you have accomplished with your post is to demonstrate your own stupidity.

How utterly ironic that your "argument" (and I use that term loosely) resembled something I blow out of my nose...
troll harder, kid,

Actually, I've got the ultimate troll repellent, the block button, oh look, all your posts magically vanish for me.
Goodbye, Gandalf-the-Trollous
Nice knowning you. *sniffle*

Oops sorry, forgot to warn "spoilers ahead". But I thought this forum only had ppl with xbox's... seeing as how ME2 is an xbox/pc exclusive.

...if I had known this many ppl were actually interested in playing the game I would have had a warning, but since one of the posters above decided to rant on the "incoherent" Heavy rain plot, I needed to retaliate...

I am not a fan of people knocking media due to the mere fact they lack the coherence to understand the story. It was purely in defense of the game.

In defense of the game? You know you didn't actually help your cause. I mean the people upset about you spoiling the game isn't the one who's bashing it you know, but other people that might have wanted to play the game, people on your side.. well not on your side any longer I suppose.

The thing is there WERE people that said they were interested in the game on this thread. But of course at least he said he is sorry and he didn't seem to do it on purpose unlike some other people here.

If you're not familiar with crime fiction, HR's story is good. Otherwise it's full of clichés.

Heavy Rain like Farenheit (Indigo Prophecy to you North Americans) seems to lack a little in the gameplay department but for me I enjoy the stories in games usually more than the gameplay lol but ME has a lot more appeal to me but Heavy Rain would be the only game I'd want from the PS3 on the PC...& Uncharted 2

So it seems. I ignored that post since I didn't want to read about the plot, so I didn't see it there until you pointed it out for me now as the spoiler was surrounded by a wall of text. My apologies to mr. Adama then. But he still shouldn't have spoiled the killer's name just because someone else did it first.

The poster that flagged you as a troll was right about you.If you don't care for the game then state your opinion and move on...why intentionally ruin the game for others unless your sole purpose is to troll?

Anyway.....the main character being the origami killer was incredibly obvious lol.

To the whinners that don´t like mass effect 2, again mass effect 2 destroy other ps3 exclusive to GOTY

Both games have player choice and epic storytelling as their
raisons d'etre, but BioWare's game is by far the more satisfying. More
coherent, less pretentious, better acted and with choices loaded with
more real consequence that Heavy Rain's, it's easily the more
heavyweight and affecting game.

What are you, 12? Still fighting the console war...

GamePro gave Heavy Rain five out of five stars, Game Informer gave it a 9.5, and IGN gave it a solid 9.0.

Besides, PC takes a massive dump on your precious little space heater. Do the gaming world a favor and lie down on a busy highway, nub.

I just finished Heavy Rain the other day. The two games couldn't be more different, so any kind of comparison outside areas like which has the better story or the better voice acting, is pretty much impossible.

Heavy Rain is an interactive thriller movie - or as one review put it, perhaps more like a TV mini series given the length and the relatively slow pacing - and a fairly decent one in my opinion.

The story was competent, the characters believable, and the "gameplay" was miles ahead of and vastly more fun and involving than traditional quick time events - and I usually hate QTEs with a passion.

The problems I had with Heavy Rain - aside from a few story plot holes (but no worse than many movie thrillers) - was some lackluster voice acting here and there (overall it certainly wasn't on par with ME2, or at least a FemShep ME2 play through :)), plus some stiff walking animations that looked somewhat out of place compared to the rest of the motion captured animations.

So if I really did have to do a final comparison between the two games, I would say that ME2 is a fantastic game (overall the best gaming experience I've had in my ~25 years as a gamer actually), while Heavy Rain is a great interactive, character centric thriller.

Get both if you have both a gaming PC/360 and a PS3. Although if you've read this entire thread you have unfortunately already had Heavy Rain pretty much completely ruined for you, as I noticed that the main plot twist or reveal has been spoiled by Gandalf-the-Fabulous and possibly others in this thread.

And with this game it's tantamount to revealing that "the butler did it".

Ummm do you realise how much that statement makes you look like a hypocrite? Trying to provoke someone into posting a response, isnt that what trolls do?

Besides it looks to me that you have failed, I have yet to see Gandalf take the bait and I doubt he ever will. Let me give you a tip kid, if you want to play the troll you will have to do a lot better than childish insults, it just makes you look pathetic and it makes it clear to everyone else that the troll you are trying to troll has succeeded in getting under your skin.

Well i figured that since Gandalf spoiled the game I had to respond to his attack at the plot using spoiler info.
I didn't think that people would get mad at ME for repeating the spoiler in defense of the game, I was just getting angry at the attack.

I figured that he posted a spoiler and since it was out, I may as well respond un-nhibited. Again, sorry to those who were interested in the game... it truly is a fantastic odyssey that you should experience whether you know the story or not. The experience is what captivates the player, not just one of the "twist" endings.
